On July 3, 2026, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos headed by Secretary Sabuddin N. Abdurahim, together with Commissioner Aisha Baicon Cayongkat-Nuska, Bureau on Muslim Settlement Director Masideng Salic, Bureau on Muslim Economic Affairs Director Saleha Sacar, Bureau on Muslim Cultural Affairs Director Benrajiv Kashim, Administrative and Finance Director Gary Habibon, joined by Regional Director for Visayas Hanefah M. Sultan, Lanao Director Ali Tabao, Northern Mindanao Director Dr. Abdulnaser Masorong, Caraga Director Monaim G**o and other NCMF officials, paid a courtesy visit to Mindanao State University President, Atty. Paisalin P. Tago.

The meeting was held to strengthen institutional ties and explore strategic areas of collaboration between the Commission and the University, focusing on their shared commitment to the advancement, empowerment, and overall welfare of Muslim Filipinos.

Building a stronger bridge between the primary government agency for Muslim Filipinos and one of the country's premier state university systems. Exploring joint initiatives in education, community extension, peacebuilding, and youth development. Both institutions reaffirmed their resolve to implement responsive, inclusive, and impactful programs that honor NCMF's mandate while supporting MSU’s vital role in service and regional development.

The courtesy visit concluded on a highly positive note, laying a firm foundation for future joint programs that will serve the Ummah and promote long-term peace and progress.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Visayas Regional Office, thru Acting Regional Director Hanefah M. Sultan, successfully facilitated the burial of a Brunei National at the Cebu Muslim Memorial Garden in Brgy. Guba, Cebu City.

Demonstrating the NCMF's unwavering commitment to serving both the local and international Muslim communities, the operation was set into motion following an official request for assistance from the Embassy of Brunei in Manila.

The deceased passed away on June 23, 2026, at Sitio Yellowbels, Kalunasan, Cebu City. Her son formally sought help through the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Manila. Through the seamless coordination between Acting Regional Director Sultan, the Brunei Embassy, and the bereaved family, the deceased was provided a dignified Islamic burial at the Cebu Muslim Memorial Garden in Brgy. Guba, Cebu City.

This successful operation highlights the strong diplomatic ties and religious solidarity between the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam. The NCMF Visayas remains dedicated to serving as a sanctuary and a reliable pillar of support for all Muslims within the Visayas region, regardless of nationality.

The NCMF Visayas extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family. We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants the deceased Jannatul Firdaus and brings comfort and strength to her loved ones during this difficult time.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Visayas Regional Office was filled with immense joy, unity, and gratitude as the community and religious leaders and muslim organizations, gathered to warmly welcoming back Acting Regional Director Hanefah M. Sultan following her successful completion of the sacred Hajj pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The atmosphere was vibrant with heartfelt reverence and communal solidarity. Having fulfilled one of the most sacred spiritual milestones in Islam, a journey of deep reflection, devotion, and purification, her homecoming transcended a simple return to official duty. Instead, it was celebrated as a blessed milestone and a beacon of inspiration for the Visayas Muslim Communities.

On June 15, 2026, NCMF-Visayas Acting Regional Director Hanefah M. Sultan, paid a courtesy visit to NCMF Lanao Regional Director Engr. Ali M. Tabao at the NCMF Lanao Regional Office in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

The visit served as an avenue to foster stronger collaboration, share best practices, and align efforts between the two regions to better serve the Muslim Filipino communities. Both regional leaders expressed their shared commitment to enhancing programs on cultural preservation, community development, and public service delivery.

Acting Regional Director Sultan extends its heartfelt gratitude to Regional Director Engr. Ali M. Tabao for his warm welcome and hospitality.

In a moving display of shared heritage and duty, NCMF Visayas Acting Regional Director Hanefah M. Sultan paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Consulate General Rommel A. Romato in Jeddah, KSA on June 04, 2026, taking place right after the conclusion of the Hajj.

The visit was a celebration of both diplomatic cooperation and shared roots in the province of Lanao del Sur.

Hailing from the same root, the two officials discussed recent developments of their hometown. The discussion also transformed from a formal diplomatic call into conversation about faith, public service and commitment to the Filipino Muslim Community.

The Consulate Office reaffirmed its dedication to assist the Filipino pilgrims and the NCMF as a whole in relation to the Hajj Operations.

The meeting served as a reminder of how Filipino hospitality and unity transcend borders. The shared Mindanaoan root highlighted the deep-seated values of camaraderie and service that they bring to their respective roles in the government.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Visayas Regional Office congratulates the whole NCMF Hajj Team headed by Secretary Sabudin Abdurahim for a successful 2026 Hajj Operation. Included in the deployment of dedicated officers to the 2026 Hajj Supervisory Team were Acting Regional Director Hanefah M. Sultan as Team Leader for the Monitoring Team, and Dr. Najeem Jamil Balt for the Hajj Medical Team.

Alhamdulillah. The entire NCMF Visayas family expresses its gratitude and appreciation for the dedication of the entire Supervisory and Medical Teams, including the NCMF Officials part of the Entourage who have worked and contributed for the welfare of the Filipino hujjaj. NCMF Visayas Acting Regional Director Hanefah M. Sultan attended the Hajj Night 2026, together with NCMF Secretary Sabuddin N. Abdurahim, and other NCMF Officials held at the Millennium Al Masar, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The event was a conclusion of the successful 2026 Hajj under the leadership of Sec. Sabuddin N. Abdurahim. The event was hosted by the Bureau of Pilgrimage and Endowment headed by Dir. Zainoden Usodan, and in collaboration with the Office of the Philippine Consulate General, headed by Consul General Rommel A. Romato in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It centered on the theme: “Hajj Night 2026: An Evening of Gratitude, Recognition, and Partnership.” The gathering honored the individuals and organizations whose dedication ensured the success of this year's Philippine Hajj Mission for Filipino pilgrims. Given recognition were the Service providers for this year's Hajj, H.E. Ambassador Raymond Balatbat, Consul General Rommel A. Romato, Sec. Sabuddin Abdurahim, and other Key Officials. Also present were Deputy Executive Director Atty. Jehan-Jehan Lepail, Chief-Of-Staff Atty. Hassanal H. Abdurahim, Bureau of Muslim Economic Affairs Director Saleha P. Sacar, Bureau of Muslim Settlement Director Masideng Salic, Lanao Regional Director Engr. Ali Tabao, Zamboanga Regional Director Rhoaisa Matolo, the Hajj Supervisory Team, Hajj Attaché Musal Bañez Harun Harun, Omar Mandia, Office of Consulate officials and staff, and others.

The sheiks from the different tribes also gave their messages expressing their appreciation to the successful management of this year's Hajj Operations by NCMF. Likewise, Sec. Sabuddin thanked the NCMF teams and officials, Sheikhs, partners like the Office of the Consulate General in Jeddah, Office of the Ambassador in Riyadh, and most especially the Hujjaj (pilgrims), whose cooperation and trust contributed to the success of this year’s Hajj.

On June 19, 2026, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Visayas Region, under the leadership of Acting Regional Director Hanefah M. Sultan attended the 2nd Quarter Provincial Inter-Agency Committee on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (PIACCRVS) Meeting.

The meeting was hosted by the PSA Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office and was attended by Rashidah M. Mocsir from the Settlement Division through online platform.

The PIACCRVS meeting serves as an essential collaborative avenue to strengthen civil registration frameworks across the province.

National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Secretary Sabuddin N. Abdurahim, together with NCMF Officials from the Central Office and Regional Offices paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to meet with Consul General Rommel A. Romato, one of the Commission’s highly supportive and dynamic partners.

With the Honorable Secretary were Deputy Executive Director Atty. Jehan-Jehan Lepail, Bureau of Muslim Economic Affairs Director Saleha P. Sacar, Commissioner and now Bureau of Muslim Settlement Director Masideng Salic and Finance and Management Service Director Atty. Mudzmar Muyong, Visayas Acting Regional Director Hanefah M. Sultan, South Luzon Acting Regional Director Atty. Alimar G. Macasindil, Lanao Regional Director Engr. Ali Tabao, Zamboanga Regional Director Rhoaisa Matolo. Also present were Hajj Attaché Musal Bañez Harun and the Philippine to Saudi Arabia Representative and Former Acting Hajj Attaché Omar Mandia.

During the visit, they engaged in an extensive discussion regarding their shared mandates, focusing particularly on safeguarding the general welfare of Muslim Filipino pilgrims, students, and overseas workers in the region.
