On July 31, 2026, at about 7:30 AM, SECU-Mandaluyong personnel led by PCPT Brian R. Tinao, Team Leader, together with the K9 Unit Mandaluyong City, EDD “Pfizer,” and Brgy. Wack-Wack K9 Unit, EDD “SCARLET,” participated in the EMPO Challenge Dry Run held at Maysilo Circle, Mandaluyong City.

The activity, under the leadership of PCOL Reynan V. Patam, Chief of Police of Mandaluyong City Police Station, was conducted to enhance and maximize inter-agency coordination, communication, and operational readiness in responding to similar incidents. Various units and representatives from government agencies also participated in the exercise.

The SECU-Mandaluyong personnel, together with the K9 units, actively participated in the operational response and coordination activities. The exercise successfully concluded at about 10:30 AM with no untoward incident reported.

At about 1:00 PM of July 22, 2026 SECU Mandaluyong personnel and Mandaluyong LGU K9 Units conducted the Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) re Bomb Threat at Indra Group, Rockwell Business Center Pasig City. The activity focuses on first responders role and emergency preparedness designed to test the procedures and the applications of the conducted Project ABKD. identify gaps and preparedness of staffs for a real Bomb Threat or Discovery of suspicious device. The activity ended with a fruitful exchange of ideas without any untoward incident.

RESULT OF OPERATION:
SIMEX was properly executed and impart the basic knowledge in emergency preparedness particularly in Explosive Related Incident.

SECU-Mandaluyong together with K9 Unit Mandaluyong and Brgy Wack Wack K9 Unit conducted security paneling operations and provided security coverage at various event venues within the area of responsibility, including Shangri-La Hotel, Jinjiang Hotel, Westin Hotel, and Richmond Hotel, in support of scheduled official activities.

Operations were conducted in coordination with partner security units and K9 teams to ensure the safety and security of the venues. Thorough inspections of designated areas and perimeters were carried out to detect the presence of explosives and other hazardous materials.

All inspected locations were declared clear, with no explosives or hazardous materials detected during the conduct of paneling operations. Following the completion of inspections, the areas were properly coordinated with and turned over to the respective security personnel for the continuation of security operations.

Overall Assessment: The security operations were successfully conducted, and the peace and order situation throughout the reporting period remained normal and peaceful.

Narrative:
In line with the directives of PBGEN ROGELIO Z RAYMUND JR, Director, PNP-EOD/K9 Group, personnel from SECU-Mandaluyong, led by PLT BRIAN R TINAO, successfully conducted a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) depicting a Bombing Incident with a Secondary Device. The multi-agency exercise was held in collaboration with Rizal Technological University (RTU) and the Mandaluyong City Police Station Territorial Police Units.

The activity was participated in by approximately 200 individuals from RTU and various emergency response agencies, including the ELYSE Fire Volunteer, ELYSE EMT, and the Mandaluyong LGU Canine Unit. The primary objective of the exercise was to evaluate and enhance the tactical and operational capabilities of the responding units while fostering heightened vigilance among participants. Specifically, the simulation aimed to equip stakeholders with critical knowledge on mitigating measures during actual bombing incidents, managing the impact of aftermath scenarios, handling mass casualties, and executing strategic protocols for neutralizing secondary devices.

SITREP:
Successfully performed SIMEX with no untoward incident happened and established good rapport with participants, as well as with the other emergency response agencies, ensuring safety and mandate in keeping the community safer to Live, Work and do Business with.

RE: Security Assistance During the Philippines' Hosting of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Women's Week 2
Period Covered: June 18–21, 2026

During the period of June 18–21, 2026, SECU-Mandaluyong, with K9 Unit Mandaluyong and Brgy Wack Wack K9 Unit continuously conducted paneling and security operations at the perimeter and parking areas of EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City, in support of the Philippines' hosting of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Women's Week 2.

The operations included Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) inspections and K9 explosive detection sweeps utilizing the Explosive Detection Dogs (EDD) Cha, Milky, Digong, Pfizer, Flash, and Scarlett. All designated areas were thoroughly inspected before the arrival of delegates, athletes, officials, and guests to ensure the safety and security of the venue.

Throughout the four-day security operations, no explosives, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), or other hazardous materials were detected. The inspected areas were declared safe and were properly coordinated and turned over to the venue's security personnel after each operation.

Assessment:
The security operations were successfully conducted without any untoward incidents. The overall peace and order situation remained normal and peaceful throughout the activity.
