In the name of faster program implementation and service delivery, 11 personnel from the DAR Provincial Office of Masbate sharpened their technical knowledge and developed practical skills in procurement with a three-day Capacity Building Workshop.
Facilitated by the Procurement and Supply Section of the DAR Masbate, with the participation of the Finance Team, the activity was held at Unica Hija Hotel and Resort, Blvd. Extension, Masbate City from August 17-19, 2026.
Through interactive and collaborative discussions and sector-based presentations, participants reviewed existing procedures, identified common challenges, and explored strategies to streamline procurement activities and standardize procedures. This led to a better understanding of the procurement timeline and the importance of submitting complete and accurate supporting documents.
The workshop also emphasized compliance with established guidelines and produced concrete outputsโa fast-track procurement flowchart, submission checklists, and sample templates for purchase requests and activity proposalsโall to further strengthen the office's commitment to improving procurement practices.
"By capacitating our personnel in the procurement processes, we are building a more efficient, transparent, and accountable procurement system that supports the timely delivery of programs, projects, and services for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs)," said OIC-PARPO II and Provincial Project Manager Eleanor F. Torres.
