MANILA, PHILIPPINES — In an unprecedented, nationwide display of unity ahead of the Senate session today, Monday, more than 100 student councils, youth organizations, Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials, and youth coalitions from across the country have launched a joint manifestation to demand the immediate ouster of Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano, the swift arrest of Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, and the formal impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

The broad youth front, led by the Youth Against Kurakot Coalition condemned Cayetano for the recent operation, reported gunfire, and political maneuvers inside the Senate walls surrounding the enforcement of the arrest warrant against Senator dela Rosa, drawing a firm line against institutional protectionism and state impunity.

“Si SP Cayetano ang ulo ng lahat ng kaguluhan sa Senado," said Matthew Silverio, Co-Convenor of the coalition. The Filipino youth wants him out for failing to uphold the integrity of the Senate, transforming the last bastion of democracy into a sanctuary for individuals facing serious human rights violations and crimes against humanity.

“Our Senate is a co-equal branch of government, not a safe house for fugitives. We refuse to let our public institutions be weaponized as shields for the greedy while ordinary Filipinos bear the brunt of an unraveling economic and educational crisis," said Frank Araneta, Co-Convenor of the coalition.

Isang malaking pasasalamat sa lahat ng ating partners at organizers na nagtulung-tulong upang maging matagumpay, ligtas, at maayos ang ating kick-off concert! Maraming Salamat sa Quezon City Government sa pangunguna ng Kaya Natin! Chairperson na si Mayor Joy Belmonte, Mayors for Good Governance, IndieGo Media, Nice Print Photography, ActivAsia, MMDA, Regasco, Quezon Memorial Circle Administration, at sa iba pa nating partners at volunteers!

Kami sa Kaya Natin! Youth ay taos-pusong sumusuporta sa layunin ni Senador Bam Aquino na pabilisin at pababain ang gastos sa pagtatayo ng mga dekalidad na silid-aralan para sa kapakinabangan ng mas maraming estudyante sa buong bansa.

Sa pamamagitan ng Classroom-Building Acceleration Program (CAP) Bill, mapabibilis ang pagpapatayo ng mga silid-aralan at mabibigyang-solusyon ang matagal nang problema ng kakulangan ng pasilidad sa ating mga paaralan.

Sa CAP Bill ni Senador Bam Aquino, sisiguraduhin nating walang maiiwan sa pagkatuto at bawat kabataan ay magkakaroon ng maayos na lugar para mangarap at matuto.

Kaya sama-sama nating itaguyod ang isang makatarungan at dekalidad na edukasyon para sa lahat!
