Empowering educators begins with meaningful opportunities to learn and grow. The Teacher Education Council (TEC) remains open to proposals from eligible professional organizations of educators and school leaders under the Teacher Professional Development Incentives Program (TPDIP).

Designed to expand access to high-quality professional learning, the TPDIP supports accredited initiatives delivered in partnership with teacher professional organizations to strengthen the competencies of teachers through accessible professional development programs.

Sa paglipas ng panahon, nagbago ang mukha ng edukasyonโ€”mula sa mga tradisyunal na pisara at aklat hanggang sa pag-usbong ng makabagong teknolohiya at ibaโ€™t ibang inobasyon sa pagtuturo at pagkatuto.

Ngunit sa kabila ng mga pagbabagong ito, nananatiling pareho ang layunin ng Teacher Education Council: ang itaguyod ang patuloy na pag-unlad ng teacher education at propesyon ng pagtuturo.

Ngayong taon, mas lalong pinalakas ng TEC ang pagkilala sa mahalagang papel ng mga g**o bilang mga pangunahing katuwang sa paghubog ng mga mag-aaral, pagsusulong ng dekalidad na edukasyon, at paghubog ng mas maunlad na kinabukasan para sa bansa.

Ang TEC ay tinatag noong ika-4 ng Agosto 1994 sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 7784. Pinalakas ito ng Republic Act No. 11713 noong 2022.

Preparing teachers for geographically isolated and disadvantaged communities starts with strengthening the institutions that train them.

As of 2025, 773 Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) are located in municipalities with 5,986 Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Area (GIDA) barangays, highlighting the critical role of teacher education in preparing future educators for underserved communities. The data also reveal regional disparities, with some regions serving large numbers of GIDA communities despite having relatively few TEIs.

With the enactment of the Last Mile and GIDA Schools Act (Republic Act No. 12321), TEC underscores that investing in last-mile schools must go hand in hand with strengthening Teacher Education Institutions to ensure every learner has access to competent, well-prepared teachers.

Nakiisa ang Teacher Education Council (TEC) sa ikatlong Joint Education Trifocal Management Committee (JETMC) Meeting na ginanap noong Hulyo 16โ€“17, 2026 sa Baler, Aurora.

Ang JETMC Meeting ang pagpupulong ng Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, at Technical Education and Skills Development Authority upang ihanay ang direksyon ng kani-kanilang mga polisiya at prayoridad.

Behind every Teacher Education Center of Excellence (Teacher Education-COE) is a quality assurance system that never stops improving.

Recently, the Teacher Education Council (TEC) convened its pool of national assessors for the 2026 Teacher Education-COE Assessors' Debriefing to identify ways to further strengthen the Teacher Education-COE assessment system.

By continuously refining its assessment processes and investing in the professional development of its national assessors, TEC strengthens the credibility and developmental value of the Teacher Education-COE Program.

The Teacher Education Council (TEC) joined national and Bangsamoro education leaders in the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement establishing the Bangsamoro Education Coordination Forum (BECF), a landmark initiative that strengthens coordination among education agencies in advancing reforms and improving learning outcomes in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

The BECF brings together the Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE), the Department of Education (DepEd Philippines), the Commission on Higher Education(CHED), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)โ€“the principal agencies of the Teacher Education Councilโ€“to align priorities, strengthen policy coordination, and support the implementation of the Teacher Education Roadmap 2035 and the National Education and Workforce Development Plan.

The event also marked the opening of EDCOM 2 - The Second Congressional Commission on Education's Turning Point: Photographs of Hope exhibit, which highlights the realities, resilience, and aspiration of Filipino learners, teachers, and communities. Together, these milestones reaffirm a shared commitment to ensuring that quality education and quality teacher preparation reaches every learner, especially those in historically underserved communities.

Teacher quality remained at the forefront of education reform as the Teacher Education Council (TEC) led key discussions on teacher education and professionalization during the 3rd Joint Education Trifocal Management Committee Meeting (JETMC3) on July 16-17, 2026 at the Baler Convention Center.

Led by DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo โ€œSonnyโ€ Angara, CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley Agrupis, and TESDA Secretary Jose Francisco โ€œKikoโ€ Benitez, the high-level summit featured the ceremonial launch of โ€œOne Educationโ€ to strengthen linkages across basic education, higher education, technical-vocational education and training (TVET), and workforce development through a more coordinated education system.
