Congratulations to the City Government of Cagayan de Oro on the Ratification of its Risk-Informed Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and Zoning Ordinance (2024–2032)!

This milestone marks a significant step toward building a safer, more resilient, sustainable, and well-planned future for every Kagay-anon. It reflects the city's strong commitment to responsible, forward-looking land use planning by successfully integrating climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and resilience-building into its updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and Zoning Ordinance.

More than just planning documents, the approved CLUP and Zoning Ordinance serve as a strategic roadmap for managing urban growth, protecting communities, promoting balanced and inclusive development, and enhancing the quality of life of both present and future generations.

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development formalized its partnership with CRS Philippines through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and coordination meeting held last June 25, 2026, in DHSUD Central Office in Quezon City.

The engagement outlined key collaboration areas under the Planners’ Network, including the rollout of PlanSmart for Sustainable Human Settlements (PlanSmart SHS), the AutoCAM Project, and other related initiatives supporting digital and risk-informed planning.

This partnership reinforces a shared commitment to advancing sustainable, resilient, and inclusive human settlements through strengthened collaboration, technical assistance, and innovation.

This , we highlight the importance of data-driven planning through the Provincial Climate Risk Diagnostics (PCRD) under the SHIELD Programme.

As climate and disaster risks grow more complex, tools like PCRD help provinces understand where risks exist, who is most vulnerable, and what actions are needed—strengthening risk-informed planning, decision-making, and investment programming.

Through the Strengthening Institutions and Empowering Localities Against Disasters and Climate Change (SHIELD) Programme, implemented by United Nations Development Programme in collaboration with UN-Habitat and partner agencies including DHSUD and DENR, LGUs gain access to science-based tools and evidence for more resilient and future-ready communities.

The DRREALL-TA Project, implemented by Expertise France in partnership with DILG and AFD, and funded by the European Union, is looking for a qualified evaluation firm to conduct its Mid-Term and Strategic Independent Evaluation.

This assignment will assess the project's relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, and emerging sustainability across its two components: (1) strengthening local capacities for risk-informed planning and investment, and (2) policy dialogue, knowledge generation, and institutional coordination.
