🔴𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬 @ 𝗘𝗟𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗕 | Awarding of the Ratified Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan (PDPFP) of Zamboanga Sibugay

DHSUD formally awards the Certificate of Ratification of the Zamboanga Sibugay PDPFP 2024–2029, recognizing the collective efforts of the Provincial Government, DHSUD Regional Office IX, and partner stakeholders in its development and approval.

The ceremony is led by Senior Undersecretary Henry L. Yap, Assistant Secretary Mylene A. Rivera, and Director Ibani C. Padao, with Governor Ann K. Hofer and Engr. Venancio A. Ferrer III of Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator representing Zamboanga Sibugay, alongside DHSUD Region IX.

This milestone marks a significant step toward strengthened provincial planning and coordinated, sustainable development.

DHSUD–ELUPDB welcomed the Ministry of Human Settlements and Development - BARMM on September 17 at the DHSUD Urban Lab, Quezon City, for a courtesy visit and knowledge exchange—facilitated by CRS Philippines.

The meeting opened discussions on key programs such as the PLANADO Program, Urban Development Guidelines, PlanSmart, and AutoCAM, while MHSD-BARMM shared updates on their ongoing efforts in updating CLUPs across their LGUs.

Both sides explored ways to work together—from capacity development and Training of Trainers, to continued technical support and knowledge sharing tailored to local contexts.

Moving forward, DHSUD and MHSD-BARMM aim to strengthen collaboration through sustained dialogue, shared learning, and future partnerships to support more resilient, data-driven planning in the region.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗛𝗦) 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝘀.

Following the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao rollout of the PlanSmart SHS Harmonized EP-CDRA, DHSUD–ELUPDB, together with DOST-PHIVOLCS, discussed next steps on system enhancements and continued support for regional offices and LGUs.

Coordination meetings were also held with the Philippine Space Agency on integrating building footprint data, and with the Department of Transportation to follow through on the integration of Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) into the system.

ELUPDB Director Ibani C. Padao, EnP, served as a resource speaker at the Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) Conference 2026 hosted by Landscape Contractors & Industry Specialists Association of the Phils, attended by professionals from the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, built environment, and the landscape industry.

In his presentation, Director Padao highlighted the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development’s ongoing efforts to mainstream Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in human settlements and urban planning and design. He emphasized DHSUD’s role in advancing NbS through planning, policy development, and technical assistance—integrating these principles into sustainable urban development and climate resilience interventions.
