ALBAY CRACKDOWN NETS 1 SUSPECT; 11 LOOSE GUNS, GR***DE, AND SHABU SEIZED

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., intensified its campaign against loose fi****ms as a CIDG-led operation in Ligao City, Albay on September 18, 2026 resulted in the arrest of one suspect and the seizure of 11 loose fi****ms, a fragmentation hand gr***de, ammunition, magazines, suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

The CIDG Albay Provincial Field Unit, together with the Albay Provincial Intelligence Team of Regional Intelligence Unit 5, 1st Albay Provincial Mobile Force Company, Ligao Maritime Police Station, and Ligao City Police Station, simultaneously implemented search warrants for violations of Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Republic Act No. 9516. Recovered from the suspect were a modified M2 carbine, a caliber .45 pistol, a caliber .22 revolver, a caliber .22 rifle, and seven other revolvers.

The suspect failed to present a License to Own and Possess Fi****ms (LTOPF), while the recovered fi****ms were not duly registered with the Fi****ms and Explosives Office (FEO). Authorities also confiscated one fragmentation hand gr***de, assorted magazines and ammunition, two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia.

“This operation demonstrates our resolve to take illegal fi****ms out of circulation before they can be used to threaten lives and communities. We will sustain lawful operations against individuals who possess and use fi****ms outside the bounds of the law,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Walang puwang sa ating mga komunidad ang mga ilegal na armas. Patuloy naming babantayan at ipatutupad ang batas para sa inyong kaligtasan,” he added.

The operation is aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda, a framework for police transformation, particularly its Enhanced Managing Police Operations priority, which supports sustained and lawful action against loose fi****ms and other criminal activities.

As the PNP strengthens its campaign against illegal fi****ms and other threats to public safety under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assures the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.”

CIDG ARRESTS CHINESE AND EMPLOYEE OVER P800K ALLEGED COUNTERFEIT SACKS IN BULACAN

On September 21, 2026 at around 2:00 PM, the CIDG Bulacan Provincial Filed Unit together with representatives from Goldman Sack Manufacturing Corporation in coordination with territorial police units implemented a Search Warrant for violation of Republic Act No. 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines) at warehouse located in Brgy. Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan that resulted in the arrest of two suspects, and confiscation of 101 bundles or 80,800 pieces of alleged counterfeit or copyright/trademark infringing rice sacks bearing different brands —with an estimated value of ₱800,000.00.

In a report that submitted to the CIDG Director, PMGEN Robert AA Morico II, it stated that the two suspects— a male Chinese national, the warehouse operator, and a Filipina employee, were arrested for storing, in possession and control, and trading the sacks without the authority of the trademark owner.

The CIDG Director emphasized that the primary purpose of Republic Act No. 8293, also known as the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, is to protect and secure the exclusive rights of scientists, inventors, artists, and other gifted citizens to their intellectual property and creations, particularly when it is beneficial to the people. He further stressed that it is the policy of the State to strengthen the enforcement of intellectual property laws and related regulations throughout the Philippines.

The arrested suspects will be charged before the National Prosecution Service with violations of Section 168 (Unfair Competition, Rights, Regulation and Remedies) in relation to Section 170 and Section 177 (Copyright or Economic Rights) of Republic Act 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines).

Nasabat sa operasyon ang petroleum products, fuel tanker truck, tractor head, fuel pumps at iba pang ebidensya na may kabuuang ₱2.397 milyon.

Ayon sa CIDG, sangkot umano ang mga suspek sa pagbebenta at trading ng petroleum products nang walang kaukulang permit at awtoridad mula sa Department of Energy (DOE).

Patuloy naman ang kampanya ng mga awtoridad laban sa unauthorized trading ng petroleum products upang maprotektahan ang consumers, public safety at government revenues.

Naaresto ang suspek sa Barangay Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan sa isinagawang manhunt operation ng CIDG Zambales at Bulacan.

Nabatid na may pitong warrant of arrest laban sa suspek para sa kasong murder, frustrated murder, robbery with violence or intimidation of persons, dalawang frustrated homicide, attempted homicide at acts of lasciviousness kung saan walang inirekomendang piyansa para sa kasong murder.

Itinuturing din ang suspek bilang Number 1 Provincial Most Wanted Person ng Bulacan, Number 6 Provincial Most Wanted Person ng Samar at Number 10 Municipal Most Wanted Person ng Catarman, Northern Samar.

Nearly P6-M worth of pilfered fuel, smuggled ci******es seized by CIDG

NEARLY P6 million worth of pilfered fuel and smuggled ci******es were confiscated by operatives of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in separate anti-criminality operations in the countryside last week, a report to PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said.

PNP-CIDG director Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander A. Morico II said that one of the operations in Bgy. San Rafael in Tarlac City last Thursday yielded some P2.4 million worth of evidence in a “Paihi” or oil pilferage operation in the province.

Two suspects were arrested during the sting conducted by the CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 under Col. Grant A. Gollod and the CIDG Tarlac Provincial Field Unit led by Maj. Arnel L. Talattad, with the support of the Tarlac Provincial Police Intelligence Unit.

A tanker truck, tractor head, fuel pumps and petroleum products were recovered during the operation conducted following reports that the suspects were selling and trading petroleum products without authority from the Department of Energy (DOE).

Another operation in Bgy. Ayala in Zamboanga City conducted by the CIDG Zamboanga City Field Unit last week led to the recovery of a mini-van found containing nearly P3.6 million worth of smuggled ci******es.

Two men transporting the 24 master cases of to***co contrabands were arrested during the operation led by the CIDG RFU 3 under Col. Rafael D. Lero and the CIDG Zamboanga City Field Unit headed by Lt. Col. Aurelio S. Domingo, the PNP-CIDG director said.

Appropriate criminal charges were filed against the arrested suspects, he added.

11 loose fi****ms, hand gr***de, suspected drugs seized in Albay

NAGA CITY – A raid triggered by a search warrant has led to the recovery of 11 undocumented fi****ms, a fragmentation hand gr***de, and suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in Ligao City in Albay province on Friday, 18 September, a belated report said Monday, 21 September.

Personnel from Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Albay and local police seized a fragmentation hand gr***de, a modified M2 carbine, a caliber .45 pistol, one caliber .22 revolver, a caliber .22 rifle, and seven revolvers while serving a search warrant to a suspect, who was not named in the report, as part of the implementation of CIDG’s OPLAN Paglalansag Omega.

According to the report, the suspect failed to present documents for the fi****ms.

The authorities also found two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected “shabu” and illegal drugs paraphernalia at the operation conducted at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

The suspect will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the “Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act” and Republic Act No. 9516 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

PNP-CIDG hauls 88 fugitives to jail

EIGHTY-EIGHT most wanted persons were hauled to jail by agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in a string of manhunt operations last week, PNP-CIDG director Maj. Gen. Robert Alexander A. Morico II reported yesterday.

The official said that some of the fugitives who were arrested from Tuesday to Thursday last week in different parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao were wanted for non-bailable cases, including murder, r**e, statutory r**e and qualified r**e.

The others are facing charges for frustrated murder, attempted murder, homicide, attempted homicide, frustrated homicide, acts of lasciviousness, qualified theft, theft and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013, RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.

Morico said that of the 88 most wanted men, 30 were arrested in Luzon, 30 in Visayas and 28 in Mindanao by different PNP-CIDG Regional Field Units.

The official said that those arrested include 10 Regional Level Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) in Regions 3, 4-A, 4-B, 6,7,8,10,12 and Cordillera Administrative Region.

Twenty-one are Provincial Level MWPs in Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Cebu, Bacolod, Antique, Capiz, Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Misamis Oriental, Northern Samar, Davao Del Norte, Davao Del Sur, Davao Oriental and Zamboanga Del Sur.

One of them was a 23-year-old resident of Sta. Margarita, Samar listed as the 8th MWP in Eastern Visayas. The suspect was tracked down in his hiding place in Barangay Guinba-oyan Sur in Calbayog City, Samar by members of the CIDG Western Samar Provincial Field Unit led by Lt. Col. Jerick A. Filosofo Jr. and placed under arrest on the basis of a non-bailable warrant for two counts of murder issued by a local court on January 30, 2024.

The suspect was one of the seven men accused of gunning down a couple in their house in Sta. Margarita on September 6, 2023 reportedly due to a personal grudge.

CIDG ARRESTS ACCUSED OVER 7 CRIMES IN BULACAN, LEYTE, AND NORTHERN SAMAR

On September 21, 2026 at around 9:45 AM, the CIDG Zambales Provincial Field Unit, together with the CIDG Bulacan Provincial Field Unit, Police Regional Office 3, Special Action Force, and territorial police units, conducted a manhunt operation in Barangay Batia, Bocaue, Bulacan that resulted in the arrest of a male most wanted person by virtue of seven (7) Warrants of Arrest —for Murder, Frustrated Murder, Robbery with Violence Against or Intimidation of Persons, Frustrated Homicide (2 counts), Attempted Homicide, and Acts of Lasciviousness— issued by courts of Meycauayan, Bulacan; Pandi, Bulacan; Tacloban City, Leyte; and Catarman, Northern Samar, in 2022 and 2023, respectively. No bail was recommended for the Murder charge.

A report that reached PMGEN Robert AA Morico II, the Director of CIDG stated that the arrested accused, male, 38 years old, is listed as Number 1 Provincial Most Wanted Person of Bulacan, Number 6 Provincial Most Wanted Person of Samar, and Number 10 Municipal Level Most Wanted Person of Catarman, Northern Samar.

On September 18, 2026 at around 8:30 AM to 10:50 AM, the CIDG Albay Provincial Field Unit together with Albay Provincial Intelligence Team of Regional Intelligence Unit 5; 1st Albay Provincial Mobile Force Company; Ligao Maritime Police Station; and Ligao City Police Station simultaneously implemented Search Warrants for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Republic Act No. 9516 in Ligao City, Albay that resulted in the arrest a male suspect, and the confiscation of eleven (11) loose fi****ms, one (1) fragmentation hand gr***de, assorted magazines, ammunition, suspected illegal drugs- shabu, and illegal drug paraphernalia.
