The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the construction of the Elevated Storage Facilities (Buildings A–C) and Dormitory (Building D) was held at the NIA Central Office today. The event gathered the Top Management Officials, together with managers and employees, as the Agency begins building improved spaces for logistics, records management, and accommodations.

With modern modular construction and purpose-built facilities now in progress, NIA looks forward to smoother operations, organized systems, and a workplace that feels more supportive and functional for its people. Today’s groundbreaking opens the path toward a better home for NIA’s daily service, a space built to support its people as they work to deliver timely and dependable service to the public.

TUGUEGARAO CITY — Targeted cloud seeding operations jointly conducted across Cagayan Valley have successfully induced light to moderate rainfall over drought-stressed farmlands and the targeted key Magat watersheds, offering critical relief to agricultural communities facing prolonged dry spell conditions.

El Niño continues to threaten food production, drying up about 31,000 hectares of rice lands, as of July 2026, served by the National Irrigation Administration-Magat River Integrated Irrigation System (NIA-MARIIS) in Isabela.

NIA CALABARZON WELCOMES NEW ACTING AFD MANAGER

Clark, Pampanga — The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Region IV-A formally welcomed Atty. Mark Gemmill M. Fagela as the new Acting Administrative and Finance Division (AFD) Manager during a Leadership Turnover Ceremony held on July 29, 2026, on the sidelines of the FY 2026 1st Semester Managers’ Conference and Performance Review.

Presided by Senior Deputy Administrator Engr. Robert C. Suguitan, the ceremony formally marked the assumption of Atty. Fagela as Acting AFD Manager pursuant to NIA Office Memorandum No. 74, Series of 2026, issued and signed by Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen. Atty. Fagela succeeds Ms. Reynaria Tapia, who is set to retire after 39 years of dedicated and commendable service to the Agency.

The leadership turnover signifies the continued commitment of NIA Region IV-A to ensuring effective administrative and financial management in support of the Agency’s mandate and programs.

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) is currently conducting its FY 2026 1st Semester Managers' Conference and Performance Review at Clark, Pampanga.

As the Host Region, NIA Region III, led by Acting Regional Manager Engr. Christian C. Manalo, warmly welcomes all key Officials: the Top Management, Department Managers, Regional Managers, Project Managers, and Division Managers.

Senior Deputy Administrator Engr. Robert C. Suguitan delivered the opening remarks, hammering home the conference’s objective of discussing the project accomplishments per Office during the first semester of FY 2026, reviewing the Agency's standing and its performance, and strategizing for the upcoming semester.

Every meeting and conference the Agency has been convening is aimed at formulating and coming up with concrete plans, projects, and better strategies to reach the very reason why we are in this public service: the farmers.
