LOOK | PSA, Provincial Government of Quezon Strengthen Collaboration on Civil Registration and Data-Driven Local Development
Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, met with Quezon Province Governor Angelina “Helen” Beredo de Luna-Tan on 01 June 2026 to discuss initiatives aimed at strengthening civil registration services and enhancing the use of Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data in support of evidence-based governance and local development planning.
Among the key matters discussed were concerns involving individuals without birth certificates and those facing civil registration issues, as well as efforts to further advance the digitalization of local civil registry offices across Quezon Province. The meeting also highlighted the value of reliable and timely statistical information in guiding the formulation of responsive programs and policies that address the needs of communities throughout the province.
The meeting was also attended by OIC Deputy National Statistician Kristine Joy S. Briones of the Censuses and Technical Coordination Office, Director Eliezer P. Ambatali of the Legal Service, Assistant National Statistician Adrian A. Cerezo of the Standards Service, OIC Assistant National Statistician Joseph P. Cajita of the National Censuses Service, and representatives from the Provincial Government of Quezon.
