The Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) welcomed representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea during a courtesy meeting with PBGEN EDWIN C BALLES, Director, AKG, held on September 16, 2026, at the AKG Director's Office, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss matters related to law enforcement, the importance of timely information sharing, and their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and coordination in addressing kidnapping threats and other security concerns involving Korean nationals in the Philippines.

During the discussion, PBGEN BALLES emphasized the AKG's unwavering commitment to working hand in hand with its international partners and stakeholders in preventing kidnapping-related incidents. He highlighted the group's continuous efforts to ensure the safety and security of victims through effective anti-kidnapping interventions and by extending necessary assistance to victims and their families.

The meeting also reaffirmed the shared commitment of the Anti-Kidnapping Group and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to foster stronger cooperation, enhance coordination, and maintain open channels of communication in support of public safety and security.

PBGEN EDWIN C. BALLES, Director, Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), paid a courtesy meeting to His Excellency HARSH KUMAR JAIN, Ambassador of the Embassy of India to the Republic of the Philippines on September 14, 2026 at the Indian Embassy Consular, 27th Floor, One World Place, Bonifacio Global City.

The courtesy meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening the partnership between the Anti-Kidnapping Group and the Embassy of India, particularly in promoting public safety, security, and cooperation in addressing kidnapping-related concerns involving Indian nationals in the Philippines.

During the meeting, PBGEN BALLES emphasized the commitment of PNP AKG to maintaining close coordination with foreign embassies and international partners to facilitate timely information sharing, strengthen operational coordination, and ensure appropriate assistance in cases involving their nationals.

The engagement also provided an opportunity to further enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between the AKG and the Indian Embassy in support of a safer and more secure environment for both Filipino and Indian communities.

The Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) formally opened its Hostage Negotiation Course on September 14, 2026, at the AKG Conference Room, Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City, as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen the operational readiness and crisis response capabilities of its personnel.

The opening ceremony was graced by PBGEN EDWIN C BALLES, Director, Anti-Kidnapping Group, who delivered an inspiring message emphasizing the vital role of discipline, sound judgment, effective communication, and composure in managing high-risk and complex crisis situations. He underscored the importance of professionalism and preparedness in ensuring the successful and peaceful solution of critical incidents.

Also present during the activity was PCOL RICO C BRACAMONTE, TM, SSC, PNPTS, whose participation highlighted the significance of sustained training, professional development, and inter-unit collaboration in strengthening the Philippine National Police's capability to respond hostage taking-incidents and other critical situations.

The Hostage Negotiation Course aims to further enhance the knowledge, skills, and operational readiness of AKG personnel and participating units in handling hostage-taking and other critical incidents through effective negotiation, crisis management, and sound decision-making strategies.

In his message, PBGEN BALLES reaffirmed the AKG’s unwavering dedication to continuous learning and personnel development recognizing that a highly trained and competent workplace remains essential in fulfilling the organization’s mission.

Ang naaresto ay kinilalang 44 taong gulang na lalaki, walang asawa, karpintero at nakatira sa Purok 3 Cogon Norte, Loon Bohol.

Ang operasyon ay isinagawa bandang 8:40 AM noong September 11, 2026, sa Brgy. Bool, Tagbilaran City, Bohol kung saan isinilbi ang Warrant of Arrest laban sa akusado kaugnay ng nasabing kaso.

Ang nasabing Warrant of Arrest na may Criminal case No. DU-57316 na may petsang Hunyo 22, 2026 ay inilabas ng Presiding Judge ng Regional Trial Court, Branch 87, Mandaue City, Cebu.

Sa kasalukuyan, nasa kustodiya ng PNP AKG-VFU ang naarestong indibidwal habang isinasagawa ang kaukulang proseso, kabilang ang pagsasauli ng Warrant of Arrest sa issuing court.

Ang naaresto ay kinilalang 25 taong gulang na lalaki, binata, Pilipino, architectural apprentice at nakatira sa Purok Bayanihan, Brgy Buaya, Lapu lapu City, Cebu.

Ang operasyon ay isinagawa bandang 10:30 AM noong September 7, 2026, sa Sitio Silangan, Barangay Tinago, Cebu City, kung saan ipinatupad ng mga awtoridad ang Warrant of Arrest laban sa akusado kaugnay ng nasabing kaso.

Ang warrant ay inisyu ng Regional Trial Court, 7th Judicial Region, Branch 82, Bogo City, Cebu, para sa kaukulang criminal case na walang nirekomendang pyansa.

Sa kasalukuyan, nasa kustodiya ng PNP AKG-VFU Headquarters ang naarestong indibidwal habang isinasagawa ang kaukulang proseso, kabilang ang pagsasauli ng Warrant of Arrest sa issuing court.

Patuloy ang PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group sa pagpapaigting ng mga operasyon laban sa mga wanted persons at iba pang lumalabag sa batas upang matiyak na ang bawat akusado ay mapanagot sa ilalim ng umiiral na batas.

Isinagawa ang operasyon bandang 10:55 AM noong September 7, 2026, sa Bacani, Clarin, Bohol, kung saan ipinatupad ng mga awtoridad ang Warrant of Arrest laban sa akusado kaugnay ng dalawang criminal cases para sa Service of Sentence, na inisyu ng Regional Trial Court, Branch 47, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, noong August 28, 2026.

Ang naarestong indibidwal ay dinala sa AKG-VFU Bohol Satellite Office para sa pansamantalang kustodiya habang isinasagawa ang kaukulang proseso at hinihintay ang pagsasauli ng Warrant of Arrest sa issuing court.

Camp BGen Rafael T Crame, Quezon City — In a decisive and highly coordinated anti-kidnapping operation, the Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP AKG), in partnership with the Southern Police District (SPD) and the Las Piñas City Police Station, successfully rescued a kidnapped Indian national and arrested five (5) suspects in Las Piñas City on September 5, 2026.

The law enforcement operation was carried out along Alabang-Zapote Road, Barangay Pamplona Tres, Las Piñas City, culminating in the safe recovery of the victim and the swift apprehension of all identified perpetrators.

The victim, a 24-year-old Indian national residing in Las Piñas City and currently pursuing medical studies, was reportedly abducted on September 3, 2026, at around 6:25 PM.

Investigations revealed that on September 4, 2026, at approximately 2:50 PM, authorities were alerted after the victim's brother reported the kidnapping incident. By 2:00 AM the following day, personnel from the Las Piñas City Police Station, together with the complainants, formally sought the assistance of the PNP AKG, triggering an immediate and full-scale anti-kidnapping response.

The suspects allegedly contacted the victim's family and demanded a ransom money in exchange for the victim's release. Under extreme emotional distress and fearing for the victim's safety, the family initially transferred 80,000 Indian Rupees through two separate bank transactions as directed by the kidnappers. The suspects later instructed the family to deposit the remaining ransom demand through an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Las Piñas City.

Acting with urgency and precision, PNP AKG operatives launched an intensive rescue and law enforcement operation. Through seamless coordination, intelligence-driven police work, and rapid tactical ex*****on, authorities successfully rescued the victim unharmed and arrested all five suspects, who are likewise Indian nationals, in less than 24 hours from the time the case was formally referred to the PNP AKG.

The arrested suspects are now facing charges for Kidnapping for Ransom and Serious Illegal Detention. The case was filed through inquest proceedings before the Department of Justice (DOJ), Padre Faura, Ermita, Manila, and docketed under NPS Docket No. XVI-INQ-261-00074.

24-YEAR-OLD INDIAN NATIONAL RESCUED IN LAS PIÑAS, FIVE ARRESTED

The Philippine National Police (PNP) rescued a 24-year-old Indian national and arrested five Indian nationals in a police operation in Las Piñas City on September 5, 2026.

The victim, a 24-year-old male medical student, was safely recovered along the Alabang-Zapote Road, Brgy Pamplona Tres, Las Piñas City. Five suspects, all Indian nationals aged 24 to 26, were also taken into police custody during the operation.

The operation was carried out by personnel of the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG), in coordination with the Las Piñas City Police Station and Southern Police District. The victim and the arrested suspects were brought to the AKG headquarters for documentation and appropriate legal proceedings.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the successful rescue reflects the importance of timely police action and coordination, particularly in cases where the safety of a person is at stake.

“Ang mahalaga, ligtas ang biktima at agad na nakakilos ang ating mga tauhan. We will continue to respond with urgency, while making sure that every step is done properly and within the law,” PGen Nartatez said.

The operation is part of the PNP’s continuing efforts under its Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which emphasizes coordinated, responsive, and effective police action. It also supports the administration’s commitment under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen public safety and ensure that communities can rely on law enforcement when they need help.

Isinagawa ang operasyon noong Setyembre 4, 2026 bandang 12:30 ng tanghali sa Barangay Fatima, Uhaw, General Santos City katuwang ang tauhan ng Police Regional Office 12. Kinilala ang naaresto na isang 26 anyos na lalaki, may asawa, shop mechanic, at residente ng nasabing lugar.

Ang nasabing Warrant of Arrest na may Criminal Case No. 25-38549 na may petsang Setyembre 2, 2026 ay inilabas ng Presiding Judge ng 12th Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court, Branch 59, General Santos City, na walang nirekomendang piyansa.

Sa kasalukuyan, nasa kustodiya ng Police Regional Office 12 ang naturang wanted person, habang hinihintay ang pagbabalik ng Warrant of Arrest sa nag-isyung korte.
