11 FORMER KADAMAY MEMBERS MOVE FORWARD WITH GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), 11 former members of the Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (KADAMAY) in Pandi, Bulacan took another step toward reintegration as they received police assistance and support on September 18, 2026.

The 11 individuals, who had previously been members of the organization and left in 2019, were assisted by personnel of the Bulacan 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company in Barangay Mapulang Lupa. All were identified as non-Periodic Status Report (PSR)-listed.

The activity provided an opportunity for the former members to complete necessary documentation and receive assistance as they move forward from their previous organizational involvement. They are currently under the constructive custody of the police unit for documentation and preparation of their Custodial Debriefing Reports, while cash assistance was also extended to each of them.

For Chief PNP PGen Nartatez, police engagement should help create a clear and orderly path for those who choose to disengage and reconnect with their communities.

“When someone chooses to move forward, our job is to make that process clear, orderly, and respectful. May proseso tayo, pero may malasakit din. We want them to know that there is a proper way forward and that government support is within reach,” PGen Nartatez said.

The initiative is part of the PNP’s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda through Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), strengthening police efforts that combine proper procedures, coordination, and responsive community engagement. It likewise complements the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in promoting peace, public safety, and responsive government service.

As the PNP continues to support lawful pathways toward community reintegration, it remains committed to bringing its service closer to the people and fulfilling the “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”

NO. 1 REGIONAL MOST WANTED SUSPECT IN 10-COUNT R**E CASE ARRESTED IN CAVITE

Under the leadership of Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., Chief, Philippine National Police (PNP), police authorities in Cavite arrested a 39-year-old most wanted suspect facing 10 counts of qualified r**e in General Trias City on Monday, September 21.

The suspect, a Filipino factory worker and resident of General Trias City, was arrested in Barangay Javalera Phase 1 by personnel of the General Trias City Police Station and Manggahan Component.

The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant issued by a Regional Trial Court in Trece Martires City on September 17, 2026, in connection with 10 counts of qualified r**e under Article 266-A of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353. The warrant indicated that no bail was recommended.

Police said the suspect was informed of the reason for his arrest and apprised of his constitutional rights. He is currently under police custody pending the appropriate court proceedings.

“This is about making sure that warrants are acted upon properly and that cases do not simply remain on paper. We will continue to locate wanted persons, but we will do it the right way—with patience, proper verification, and respect for due process,” PGen Nartatez said.

The arrest reflects the PNP’s continuing efforts to account for wanted persons through focused and coordinated police operations under the PNP Focused Agenda and Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO). UNIFIED 911 CALL TRIGGERS PNP RESPONSE; ARMED SUSPECT ARRESTED, SHABU SEIZED

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., demonstrated the value of accessible emergency reporting after police in Southern Leyte responded to a call through the Unified 911 system, a vital public safety service under the Department of the Interior and Local Government led by Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr., resulting in the arrest of an armed suspect and the seizure of suspected illegal drugs.

On September 19, 2026, personnel of the Maasin City Police Station (CPS) acted on the emergency call concerning a suspicious person in Brgy. Nasaug, Maasin City, Southern Leyte. Responding police personnel located alias “Tope,” 41, a resident of Maasin City, who was seen carrying a short fi***rm tucked into his waistline.

Police personnel immediately subdued and arrested the suspect, recovering a .38-caliber revolver loaded with three live rounds of am******on and three heat-sealed transparent sachets containing a substance suspected to be shabu. The suspected illegal drugs weighed approximately 2.53 grams and had an estimated value of ₱17,204.00.

The suspect and recovered items were brought to the Maasin CPS for proper documentation and disposition. Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Am******on Regulation Act, and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing.

PGEN Nartatez emphasized that accessible emergency reporting remains an important link between the public and police responders.

“A timely call can give our police the opportunity to act before a potential threat escalates. We will remain ready to respond to legitimate calls for assistance and protect communities from armed and criminal threats,” PGEN Nartatez said.

The PNP Chief also underscored the role of the public in helping authorities address threats in their communities.

“Sa isang tawag lang, maaaring makapagbigay ng mahalagang impormasyon ang publiko sa pulis. Hinihikayat natin ang ating mga kababayan na gamitin ang Unified 911 kapag may agarang panganib o sitwasyong nangangailangan ng tulong,” he added.
