Seanchoíche , the Irish storytelling collective are coming to Portugal to host their very first storytelling night in Lisbon, with stories based on the Theme of TIME.

Seanchoíche is a storytelling events collective from Ireland that have been running storytelling nights across multiple locations all around the world. With Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union already marking one month in office, let's take a look at some of the Embassy's key engagements in Portugal throughout July:
🇮🇪 🇪🇺

• On 01 July, the Embassy marked the official opening of Ireland's Presidency with a launch event at the Convent of Nossa Senhora do Bom Sucesso in Lisbon, featuring a showcase performance from the internationally acclaimed Irish musician, Martin Hayes, with Brian Donnellan and Síle Denvir. The event brought together government representatives, diplomatic partners, stakeholders and friends of Ireland.

• On 02 July, the Embassy hosted the first Presidency Ministerial Breakfast with Portugal's Minister of State and Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel. Discussions focused on the priorities of .

• On 06 July, Ambassador Alma Ní Choigligh presented Ireland's Presidency priorities to the Interministerial Commission for European Affairs, outlining Ireland's key objectives for the Presidency and the importance of continued European cooperation.

• On 09 July, the Portugal-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Group hosted on an event dedicated to the shared roots and flavours between Portugal and Ireland.

• On 13 July, Ambassador Ní Choigligh gave an interview to Diário de Notícias (DN), discussing Ireland's Presidency priorities, the future of Europe and key issues on the EU agenda.

• On 15 July, Ambassador Ní Choigligh presented Ireland's Presidency priorities to the Portuguese Parliament's European Affairs Committee, underlining Ireland's commitment to a strong, united and forward-looking European Union.

• On 31 July, Ambassador Ní Choigligh took part in the Ireland Portugal Business Network Podcast, discussing Ireland's Presidency priorities and the opportunities and challenges facing the European Union.
