The CII Mission on Waste-to-Worth Technologies engaged with Lund University to explore opportunities for deeper India–Sweden cooperation in the circular economy, sustainable resource management and waste-to-worth technologies.

Discussions covered innovative approaches to stormwater treatment and reuse; sustainable technologies for a circular, low-carbon economy; collaborative water management across actors and scales; and pathways to recirculate organic waste as nutrients for agriculture while generating renewable energy.

The interaction also explored circular recovery models for municipal solid waste management in urban areas and pathways towards zero-waste systems in India and Sweden.

The engagement highlighted strong potential for India–Sweden collaboration in advancing resource efficiency, sustainable technologies and scalable waste-to-worth solutions, contributing to resilient and sustainable societies.

The CII Mission on Waste-to-Worth Technologies delegation visited the University of Borås for an insightful engagement on resource recovery, circular economy and sustainable textiles.

The interaction provided an opportunity to learn about the University’s resource recovery research and pilot infrastructure, including biological processing, waste-to-energy, polymer recovery and the conversion of residual streams into materials, feed. The delegation also explored the work on textile-to-textile recycling, covering mechanical and chemical recycling among others.

The delegation received presentation on Biotechnology, Building technology, Sustainable energy and thermal process, Polymer technology, Resource management, Textile technology followed by Resource Recovery lab and Textile Technology Lab tour showcasing pilot-scale research and technology. Discussions also focused on pathways for taking innovations from laboratory research through pilot demonstration to commercial scale.

The engagement further explored opportunities to strengthen India–Sweden collaboration through joint research and pilot projects, technology demonstration contributing to a shared vision of a more circular and resource-efficient future.

हिंदी दिवस २०२६, उप्साला 🇮🇳🇸🇪

स्वीडन में हिंदी और संस्कृत की समृद्ध विरासत तथा संस्कृतियों को जोड़ने में उनकी भूमिका का उत्सव।

उप्साला यूनिवर्सिटी में 24 सितंबर को स्टॉकहोम स्थित भारतीय दूतावास के सहयोग से हिंदी दिवस का आयोजन किया गया। स्वीडन में भारत के राजदूत अनुराग भूषण ने कार्यक्रम में शामिल होकर सभा को संबोधित किया।

कार्यक्रम में शोधकर्ताओं और छात्रों ने हिंदी, संस्कृत, अंग्रेज़ी और स्वीडिश भाषाओं के माध्यम से भाषा, संस्कृति, समाज और उनके आपसी संबंधों पर विचार साझा किए। हिंदी भाषा के छात्रों के साथ एक विशेष पैनल चर्चा भी आयोजित की गई।

यह आयोजन भाषा, ज्ञान और भारत–स्वीडन के बीच मजबूत सांस्कृतिक संबंधों का सुंदर उत्सव रहा। 🇮🇳🤝🇸🇪

Hindi Diwas in Uppsala 🇮🇳🇸🇪
Celebrating the richness of Hindi & Sanskrit and their role in connecting cultures.

Uppsala University hosted Hindi Day on 24 September, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Stockholm.

Ambassador of India to Sweden, H.E. Anurag Bhushan joined the event and addressed the gathering.

The event brought together researchers and students to explore Hindi, Sanskrit, English and Swedish through presentations and discussions on language, culture, society and their connections.

A special panel discussion with Indology students was also part of the programme.

A meaningful celebration of languages, knowledge and the enduring cultural connections between India and Sweden. 🇮🇳🤝🇸🇪

Connecting Research & Industry for a Circular Future
The CII Mission on Waste-to-Worth Technologies visited Chalmers University of Technology as part of its Sweden programme.

The delegation was briefed on Chalmers University of Technology and the Chalmers Foundation Group, with discussions on opportunities to strengthen collaboration with India. The programme also featured presentations on Chalmers’ research activities in Waste-to-Worth technologies and its start-ups developing innovative sustainable technologies.

The delegation further visited the Chalmers power station, witnessing pilot-scale combustion technologies. Waste-to-Worth solutions.

The engagement highlighted the strong potential for India–Sweden cooperation in circular economy, clean technologies, sustainable waste management, research and innovation, supporting the shared goal of advancing sustainable and resource-efficient solutions.
