📢 CMMU Research Attains Global Recognition in New Innovation Management Study
BANGKOK, THAILAND — The College of Management, Mahidol University (CMMU) proudly announces a significant international milestone in business research. A new study published in The Journal of Technology Transfer has utilized the research of CMMU faculty members and PhD graduates. The study, titled "Individual managers' market and technological knowledge competence driving management innovation: The mediating roles of effectuation and causation", co-authored by Jingjing Ge, Sandra Hasanefendic, Claire van Teunenbroek, and Bart Bossink.
The CMMU research (2022) by Pornthip Chaithanapat, Prattana Punnakitikashem, Nay Chi Khin Khin Oo and Sirisuhk Rakthin is used by the scholars from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and University of Twente to support the following two main points:
🎯 Developing Innovative Practices: It is cited to show that top managers with strong knowledge competence can interpret customer demands and technological trends to respond strategically by developing innovative management practices
🎯 Customer Knowledge Competence: It supports the argument that gathering and integrating information about current and emerging customer needs allows firms to deliver a timely, effective response that meets customer expectations.
"This global recognition is exceptionally meaningful because it highlights the world-class caliber of our doctoral training at CMMU," stated Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirisuhk Rakthin, Vice Dean for CMMU Executive Education and a co-investigator of the cited study. "Two of the co-authors on our cited study are proud graduates of the CMMU PhD in Management program. Seeing our doctoral alumni produce high-impact research that shapes global frameworks at elite European universities is the ultimate validation of our mission to cultivate global thought leaders in Thailand."
"This international milestone in the Netherlands proves that CMMU is making a truly real-world impact around the globe," stated Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prattana Punnakitikashem, the Dean of CMMU and a co-investigator of the cited study. "By generating cutting-edge business insights that are adopted by elite European institutions, our faculty and doctoral researchers are actively shaping global corporate frameworks. At CMMU, we follow the tradition of world-class business schools elsewhere that our approach is to ground every insight in rigorous research before translating it into practice. That is the reason our Master's degree students are well-equipped with cutting-edge knowledge that cannot yet be found in the marketplace. We simply do not teach primarily from a textbook".
Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (commonly referred to as VU Amsterdam or "the VU") is a prominent, publicly funded research university located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. VU Amsterdam consistently positions itself as a top 100 global university, recognized heavily for its high research output and open scientific data-sharing policies.
