Central Police Station continue to encourage the health, fitness, and wellbeing of its officers, recognising that staying fit is an important part of being ready and effective for duty.

As part of these efforts, FFOV proudly supported the staff of Central Police Station by providing T-shirts for officers participating in health and fitness activities.

The initiative also included an energetic Zumba session led by Soana Tupou and the Zumba Afo e Teau & Lapaha Knight Team, bringing plenty of energy, motivation, and fun to the officers.

The fitness activities were followed by Wednesday Sports Day yesterday, giving officers another opportunity to stay active, strengthen teamwork, and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Senior women leaders within Tonga Police joined Commissioner Geoff Turner, Deputy Commissioner Sokopeti K. Faletau, and representatives from other agencies at a Women, Peace and Security Roundtable held at the Masefield Navy Base on Friday, 21 August 2026.

The roundtable was held during the visit to Tonga by Australian Ambassador for Gender Equality MS. Michelle Oโ€™Byrne, providing an opportunity for open discussion on the experiences, leadership and initiatives supporting women across Tongaโ€™s national security sector.

Importantly, the Tonga Police women attending the roundtable are serving as Unit Managers and leaders across key operational areas, reflecting the increasing role of women in leadership and decision-making positions within the organisation.

As part of the presentation, Acting Chief Legal Officer Mrs. Loluhama Mausia highlighted that the inclusion of women in Tonga Police did not happen overnight. She noted that it has been a journey built on resilience, dedication and hard work, which has led to women being accepted and fully integrated into the organisation.

Discussions also focused on why Women, Peace and Security matters in the Tongan context, including the role of women in regional peacekeeping deployments, community policing, addressing human trafficking, and responding to domestic and family-related issues.

The engagement reinforced the importance of womenโ€™s leadership and participation in strengthening safer, more inclusive and resilient communities, while supporting Tongaโ€™s contribution to regional peace and security.

Tonga Police acknowledge the Tongaโ€“Australia Policing Partnership for its continued support and commitment to strengthening policing capabilities and opportunities for women within Tonga Police. This ongoing partnership contributes to creating pathways for women to lead, serve and make meaningful contributions across policing and national security.

Tonga Police remain committed to continuing to support and strengthen opportunities for women to lead, serve and contribute meaningfully across all areas of policing and national security.
