Calling all junior and senior high school students who are Akron residents for the 2026-2027 school year! Akron Borough Council is accepting applications from interested students who meet these qualifications.

The Junior Council Person (JCP) Program provides youth in your community with an opportunity to get engaged in borough government and develop leadership skills. It also allows borough officials to serve as mentors to students who will be future leaders in their communities.

🚧 Miller Road Construction Update 🚧

Good news! Piping and other project materials should begin arriving around the last week of June with construction tentatively scheduled to begin as early as July 6th.

The borough will be working on the Pines Playground over the next few weeks. We will be pressure washing, painting, making repairs, and mulching. Some days the playground will be closed or areas of the playground will be closed. Please be patient as the borough works on the playground.

The Akron Borough Council meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th at 6:30pm has been canceled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, June 8th at 6:30pm.
