The Akron Borough Council meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th at 6:30pm has been canceled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Monday, June 8th at 6:30pm.

Looking for something fun to do with the family tonight? Cultivate Community Church is hosting the first Movies in the Park of the season tonight at Broad Street Park here in Akron.

Happening this Friday! Join us in Broad St Park, 801 Broad Street in Akron Borough for our first movie of the 2026 season, "Inside Out." The movie will be shown at Dusk. In the event of rain, the movie will be held at Cultivate Community Church, 650 Main St. in Akron at 8pm. Akron Together Cultivate Community Church

Council has approved a quote from a contractor for the repairs to the culvert on Miller Road. A date to begin construction has not been set. As always, thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope to have Miller Road reopened as quickly as possible.

⚠️ Important Safety Notice: E-Bikes, E-Scooters, & Electric-Powered Vehicles ⚠️

The West Earl Township Police Department wants to remind residents that most e-bikes, e-scooters, and other electric-powered vehicles are not street legal without proper registration, insurance, and licensing.

We understand these devices are popular right now, but we’ve seen a significant increase in accidents involving them. Many riders are unaware that operating them on public roadways without meeting PA state requirements is illegal.

Please note:
If your electric-powered vehicle exceeds PA’s legal e-bike limits — 750 watts, 20 mph max, 100 lbs, operable pedals — it’s classified as a motor-driven cycle/moped and requires a Class M license, registration, and insurance.

Electric scooters generally do not meet PennDOT equipment standards and cannot be legally operated on public roads or sidewalks.
Officers are and will continue to take enforcement action on violations.
Illegal e-bikes/e-scooters are subject to towing and impoundment. 443b6c74
