Whether you are seeking a marriage license, name change, adoption, if your loved one has passed, or needs a guardianship to meet their needs, we assist you in the many important areas our Court serves. Thank you to residents and friends of Concordia at Sumner for having Chief Magistrate Steve Elliott out to present Protect Our Seniors along with Tania Nemer and John Galonski from the Prosecutors office. Educating the community on how to “protect and prepare” is a priority of Probate Court, the Sheriffs department and the Prodecutors office so we have teamed up in an effort to share this important information with as many as possible.

Thank you to the Coventry AARP for having Chief Magistrate Steve Elliott present “Protect Our Seniors” alongside Tania Nemer and John Galonski from the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office.

Educating and empowering our community to recognize and avoid scams, protect themselves and their finances, and prepare for the future is a priority of the Summit County Probate Court, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Sheriff’s Department.

Congratulations to our very own Michael Radic!

Local Court Employee Receives National Certification

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Michael Radic, Court Administrator, of Summit County Probate Court was among 38 court administrators, clerks, probation officers, and other court employees from across Ohio to graduate as a Certified Court Manager from the nationally recognized Court Management Program (CMP).

To earn the credential as a Certified Court Manager, individuals commit three years to the advanced study of court operations. The intensive coursework focuses on day-to-day court processes and practical skills, encompassing budgeting, personnel management, project management, court performance tools, and statistical analysis of caseloads.

Chief Justice Sharon L. Kennedy delivered remarks to the graduating class, addressing the responsibilities court leaders carry and the challenges shaping the future of judicial administration.
"The work you have chosen to lead has never been more complex, nor more vital," Chief Justice Kennedy said. "For every challenge you face, the solution begins and ends with the people we serve."

The Court Management Program is designed to improve the performance of courts and access to justice for members of the community.

Ohio is one of only seven states that facilitates the three-tier program for court personnel in the state. Ohio has offered the certification since 2002.

The program was developed by the Institute for Court Management, the educational arm of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC). Founded in 1971, NCSC is a nonprofit organization and a central resource for state courts, promoting the rule of law and improving the administration of justice in state courts and courts around the world.

We had a wonderful group of engaged community members who are committed to staying informed and protecting themselves and their loved ones.

Educating our community about how to recognize and avoid scams, protect their finances, and prepare for and safeguard their assets is a priority of the Summit County Probate Court, as well as the Summit County Sheriff’s Department and Prosecutor’s Office.
