It’s the 3rd Tuesday of the month! 🥳 that means…
🥫 Fresh delivery at the NMSU-A Food Pantry!

Thanks to our monthly Roadrunner Food Bank distribution, the pantry is stocked with a variety of items including fresh bananas, chicken, canned vegetables and pasta sauce, rice, beans, pasta, oats, and more.

NMSU-A students, faculty, staff, and retirees can stop by from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM. The community at large is welcome from 1:00–5:00 PM.

From September 15 through October 15, NMSU-A joins communities across the country in celebrating the cultures, traditions, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

To kick off the month, we want to hear from you—our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.

📚 Celebrate the freedom to read with Townsend Library this October!

In recognition of Banned Books Week 2026, Townsend Library is inviting NMSU-A students and community members to take part in a month of activities centered around books, creativity, and conversation.

Throughout October, non-student community members can receive a FREE Townsend Library card, valid through the end of the year.

Then, join us for Caution: Books Being Books! on October 8 from 10 AM–2 PM at Townsend Library. Stop by to decorate excerpts from banned and challenged books, enjoy snacks and refreshments, and enter your design for a chance to win a prize! 📖🎨

Whether you’re a student, faculty or staff member, or part of the community, we invite you to celebrate reading with us all month long.

NMSU Alamogordo was pleased to recently welcome Maj. Clasen, CMSgt Esperanza, and Deputy Director Dani Harkins from the 49th Force Support Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base to campus!

As the Honorary Commander for the 49th Force Support Squadron, NMSU-A Marketing Communications Specialist Chelsea Hayes wanted to connect Maj. Clasen, the squadron's new commander, with the campus and provide an opportunity to see firsthand all that NMSU-A has to offer.

Throughout the visit, they met with representatives from across campus to learn more about our academic programs, career and technical education opportunities, student support services, and resources available to military members and their dependents.

Maj. Clasen was pleased to learn more about NMSU-A and is looking forward to supporting the campus as we continue strengthening our partnership with Holloman and creating connections that benefit our military community.

🇺🇸 One month to go until NMSU-A Constitution Day!

Join NMSU Alamogordo on Thursday, September 24 at 6:00 PM in the David Townsend Library for a panel discussion exploring birthright citizenship in the United States and other countries, including discussion surrounding the Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. Barbara.

Faculty and members of the legal community will take part in the conversation, and food will be provided.

We will gather at the NMSU-A flagpole by David Townsend Library for a moment of silence as we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and reflect on the impact of that day.
