It takes a village! Everyone’s help is needed and much appreciated to ensure fire hydrants remain visible to our firefighters. We’re only a handful and we have over 500 on the Otero side of Chaparral.

If you live near a hydrant please help us clean around them. You may never know when you or your neighbors may be in need of one during a fire.

‼️PSA TO THE CHAPARRAL COMMUNITY‼️

Tomorrow morning beginning around 9am Otero County Road crews will be out patching and repairing Stateline Dr. Repairs will begin at Allsups and continue west.

Expect lane closures! Traffic will be reduced to one (1) lane. Respect our crews!! DO NOT GO SPEEDING THROUGH THIS AREA!

Please plan your day accordingly as there is no set deadline on when it will be completed.

UPDATE: The Co-Op has reported a lot of damage but as of now, it seems like power has been restored to the area. Thank you to the hard working crews that restored power!

Please check on your loved ones that live with in our northern district. This outage is effecting parts of the Oro Vista, Boles Acres, and Dog Canyon areas and has been ongoing since approximately 6pm. This will not effect our emergency response in these areas so if you experience an emergency, dont hesitate to call 911.

This evening Station 6, Dona Ana Station 44, and OCSO Deputies aided with landing FireStar1 out of El Paso for a trauma patient who sustained severe injuries after a fall.

We appreciate the help from all agencies who came together to provide exceptional care for our patient. And for providing immediate intervention to get the patient proper and immediate care for their injuries.

Last night our members had the honor of welcoming the newest addition to the District 1 fleet. This apparatus was the first apparatus purchased as the new consolidated district and will serve the Boles Acres community out of Station 3. Our members performed the tradion of pushing the apparatus into the bay. This tradition started way back in the era of horse drawn wagons when firefighters had to push the wagons back into the fire stations. Now it serves as a way to honor those that came before us. We are very excited for this new addition as well as some pretty awesome things to come in the near future!

Engine 1312 is a 2025 HME Ahrens-Fox with 1,000 gallon water tank and a 1500 gallon per minute pump.

Also, a big thank you to MES in Las Cruces for assisting us with this purchase.

Tonight members learned the importance of tourniquet application, pressure dressing use, and wound packaging.

These skills can help save lives during incidents related to penetrating injuries such as gun shot wounds and stabbings. Preparing our members for traumatic calls requiring immediate action and precise skills to control massive bleeding.

Our deepest and most sincerest condolences go out to Detective Allen’s family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time. May he rest in eternal peace, no words can fill the void of losing a loved one.

We stand with our brothers and sisters in blue as they navigate the loss of one of their own.
