NEW YORK, DID YOU KNOW?
Child care costs can be one of the biggest expenses families face. Through New York's Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP), eligible families may receive help paying for child care while they work, attend school, or participate in job training.

This year, New York expanded investments in child care assistance, helping more families access affordable, reliable care.

If you think you may qualify, contact your local Department of Social Services or reach out to my office for assistance navigating the application process.

The Hudson Valley is currently under a Flash Flood Watch, with a Level 3 out of 4 risk for excessive rainfall and flash flooding. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to begin around 3:00 p.m. today (Tuesday) and continue through Wednesday, with unsettled weather lingering into Thursday before conditions improve in time for the weekend.

I urge residents to take precautions as this storm system moves through the region. The slow-moving weather system is expected to bring prolonged periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and the potential for dangerous flash flooding.

Residents are encouraged to closely monitor local forecasts and stay informed of any weather watches and warnings issued for their area. For the latest weather alerts, visit the National Weather Service website.

New Yorkers should also ensure that emergency alerts are enabled on their mobile phones. To receive real-time weather and emergency notifications by text, simply text your county name to 333111.

My team and I were thrilled to welcome so many community members, elected officials, and local partners to our recent Open House at our new district office!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit, meet our team, learn about the services we provide, and help us celebrate this exciting new chapter. It was wonderful to connect with residents from across the 99th Assembly District and hear about the issues that matter most to you.

A special thank you to the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce for joining us and helping celebrate this milestone. We greatly appreciate your support and your commitment to strengthening our local business community.

I would also like to recognize several award honorees who were unable to attend our recognition ceremonies earlier this year due to prior commitments. We were honored to have the opportunity to present their awards during the Open House and celebrate their contributions to our community. Their dedication to serving others helps make the Hudson Valley a better place for all.

If you were unable to attend, I invite you to stop by our new district office:

I was honored to attend the Rockland County EMS Awards and Recognition Ceremony at the Fire Training Center in Pomona.

These remarkable students have demonstrated leadership, teamwork, dedication, and a commitment to serving others through their involvement in EMS youth programs. It was inspiring to see so many young people developing the skills and values that will help shape the future of emergency medical services in Rockland County.

Rockland County EMS providers respond to more than 70,000 calls for service each year, and these young participants represent the next generation of community leaders and first responders.

Congratulations to all of the youth competitors, participants, and award recipients. Your hard work, compassion, and commitment to service make our community proud, and I look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the future.

I was proud to partner with the Highland Falls Fire Department and the New York Blood Center for a community blood drive that showcased the very best of our region.

Thanks to the generosity of local donors, 25 units of blood were collected. That is enough to potentially help save up to 75 lives. Every donor who rolled up their sleeve made a meaningful difference for patients undergoing surgeries, cancer treatments, emergency care, and other critical medical procedures.

This was our second successful blood drive in June. Earlier in the month, we partnered with the American Red Cross in Cornwall to help address the ongoing need for blood donations across our communities. Together, these events are a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when neighbors come together to help one another.

This effort comes at a particularly important time. New York continues to face blood supply challenges, and blood centers are urging eligible donors to give to help ensure hospitals have the blood they need. During the summer months, donations often decline while demand remains steady.

I want to thank the Highland Falls Fire Department, the New York Blood Center, our volunteers, and every community member who took the time to donate. Your generosity and commitment to helping others will have a lasting impact on countless lives.

If you are eligible to donate, I encourage you to consider making an appointment. One donation can help save up to three lives.

🚨 BLOOD EMERGENCY ALERT 🚨

New York Blood Center has declared a second blood emergency this summer, the first time this has ever happened. Extreme heat, severe storms, power outages, and ongoing cleanup efforts have caused blood supplies to drop to approximately a 2-day inventory, the lowest level seen since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Blood cannot be manufactured or imported. It can only come from volunteer donors.

If you are eligible, please consider donating blood. One donation can help save up to three lives and can make a critical difference for trauma patients, cancer patients, mothers experiencing childbirth complications, and others who rely on lifesaving transfusions every day.

Our community has always stepped up when help is needed most. Let’s do it again and ensure hospitals have the blood supply they need to save lives.

It was a scorcher, but I wouldn’t spend July 4th anywhere else but here in District 99!

This past July 4th holiday weekend I celebrated 250 years of American history with all of our neighbors. It was filled with fireworks, smiles, and reminders of what makes the USA the greatest country on earth.

Our shared country holds the promise that no matter where you are from, who you are, or who you choose to share your life with, you belong here and can succeed. Since 1776, this profound experiment in democracy continues to grow, becoming better with each passing day, and I am proud to play a role in it representing you all in the NYS Assembly.

Here’s to another 250 and beyond for this beautiful country!
