Proud to honor the brave men and women who have been awarded the Purple Heart for the wounds they have sustained in service to our nation. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to defending our freedoms will never be forgotten.

On this National Purple Heart Day, Albany County stands with our veterans and military families as we remember those who have borne the battle and recognize the extraordinary resilience of our Purple Heart recipients. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

Deputy County Executive Mike McLaughlin joined a press conference to help recognize New York State’s continued commitment to work zone safety with the expansion of its Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement Program and honor the dedication of the Robert Bornt Memorial Bridge. The men and women who maintain our roads and bridges perform essential work, often in dangerous conditions, and deserve to know they can return home safely at the end of every day. Thank you to Governor Kathy Hochul, Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez, and the New York State Department of Transportation for your continued commitment to public safety, strong infrastructure, and the people who make safe travel possible.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit the excavation site of the original Erie Canal Lock 1, a reminder of the role Albany played in one of the most important infrastructure projects in our nation's history.

As we continue investing in our waterfront, preserving landmarks like this can help tell our story, draw visitors, and support future redevelopment. Thank you to Albany Waterway Inc., SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and everyone working to uncover and preserve this important piece of our history.

It's great to see Hudson Shores Park once again serving as a destination for residents and visitors alike. I participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Hudson Shore Tavern. This investment brings new energy to Watervliet's waterfront, creates another place for people to gather, and builds on the momentum of revitalization happening throughout the community. I encourage everyone to stop by, enjoy the view, and support this exciting new local business. Congratulations to Peter, Lance, and everyone who helped bring this project to life!

Welcome to Albany County, Shake Shack!

It was great to celebrate today's ribbon cutting at Stuyvesant Plaza. Every new business that invests here creates jobs, strengthens our local economy, and reinforces that Albany County is a great place to grow.

Congratulations to the entire Shake Shack team, and welcome to the neighborhood!

I'm honored to once again be recognized by City & State as one of the Upstate Power 100.

None of it happens alone. It takes dedicated county employees, community partners, local leaders, and residents who care deeply about where we live. This recognition is a reflection of the work we’re doing together to move Albany County forward, strengthen our communities, and create new opportunities.

Thank you to City & State for the recognition, and congratulations to all of this year’s honorees. There’s more work ahead, and I’m looking forward to continuing to deliver for the people of Albany County.
