The Capital Region Transportation Council (Transportation Council) and Albany County invite the public to visit the Albany County Airport Area Trail Connector Study project website. The website includes information about the project, previous planning recommendations, an interactive web map, a public survey, and information about how to stay involved with the study. The study area for this project includes the immediate Albany International Airport area west to Sand Creek Road and north to the Mohawk/Hudson Bike-Hike Trail/Empire State Trail. Community members are encouraged to visit the project website and provide feedback through the interactive map and public survey.

The Albany County Airport Area Trail Connector Study aims to connect the existing multi-use trails along Albany Shaker Road and Watervliet Shaker Road to the Empire State Trail along the Mohawk River. These trail connections will consider users of all ages and abilities to create safe pathways for non-vehicular transportation. For additional information, contact Carrie Ward, Project Manager, at (518) 458-2161 or [email protected].

What an incredible turnout last night at MVP Arena! Around 2,000 people came together for our free NBA Finals watch party, filling the arena with excitement from tip-off to the final buzzer. It was great to see fans from across the County cheering side by side and sharing in the moment. A big thank you to everyone who joined us!

In partnership with Albany Mayor Dr. Dorcey Applyrs we are inviting basketball fans to MVP Arena tonight for a free community watch party as the NBA Finals continue with Game 4 between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. The game will be shown live on the arena's center-hung scoreboard, which will be lowered to provide an enhanced viewing experience. There will be free parking in the MVP Arena garage.
