💡 Why do New York communities need dental therapy?

Dental therapy brings care into the communities that need it the most, and providers are more likely to reflect the communities they serve. Access to dental therapy results in shorter wait times and higher satsifaction.

The moment is now - expand access to oral health care allowing the practice of dental therapy in New York.

Children’s well-being is deeply connected to the strength of their families and communities. New York scores in the worst category. The 2026 KIDS COUNT® Data Book from Annie E. Casey Foundation highlights how factors such as family stability, neighborhood conditions and access to community resources influence children’s development and future opportunities.

Kids are more likely to thrive when they grow up in safe, supportive environments with access to health care, education, healthy food and economic opportunity. But families facing poverty and high stress often encounter barriers that can affect children’s long-term outcomes.

The Data Book highlights the importance of investing in families and communities to help all children succeed. Explore the latest state-by-state family and community data: https://bit.ly/26DataBook-LI
