🐧💙 Two Positive Penguin Referrals Today! 🐧💙

First, 1st grader Elizabeth saw a friend in need and stepped in to help without being asked! Her kindness, initiative, and caring heart are a wonderful example of what it means to be a Positive Penguin. ❤️

We are so proud of you for showing kindness and looking out for others! Keep spreading those Penguin values! 🐧✨

Second, 5th grader Luna is an intelligent, kind, respectful, and helpful student who consistently makes positive choices. She follows directions, stays out of trouble, and always strives to do the right thing. Luna truly embodies what it means to be a Positive Penguin PAL by showing respect, responsibility, and kindness every day! ❤️

🧱🐧 LEGO Choice Special Is a HIT at LKO! 🎉

Every Wednesday, our 4th and 5th-grade Penguins have the opportunity to choose a Special outside of Music, PE, or Art—and the LEGO Choice Special is definitely a favorite! 🧱✨

Each Wednesday, students are given a new task to complete, encouraging them to think creatively, solve problems, follow directions, and bring their ideas to life, one brick at a time! 🧩💡

We love seeing our Penguins learn, build, and challenge themselves in new ways!

New Worlds Reading 3rd - 5th Parent Workshop & Annual Title I Meeting
You and your child are invited to a special New Worlds Reading Parent Workshop!
Join us for an engaging evening where you will learn strategies to support your child's reading comprehension skills at home. Families will receive books and a take-home activity to help practice the reading strategies learned during the workshop. We will begin the evening with our Annual Title I Meeting, followed by the New Worlds Reading Parent Workshop.

Dinner will immediately follow the workshop!

Las familias recibirán libros y una actividad para llevar a casa que les ayudará a practicar las estrategias de lectura aprendidas durante el taller.

Happy Fall Y'all - Candy Monsters are in the Hall! 🍂 🎃
LKO Trunk or Treat is Friday, October 23rd from 6pm - 7:30pm (*last entry at 7:15pm*).

Concessions will be available (hot dogs, drinks, chips) for purchase.

We have lots of ways to help continue this spooktacular event!
1. Send candy in with your students to fill their grades candy monsters!

2. Donate any amount ($) on Givebacks https://lkopta.givebacks.com/shop and we'll pick up the candy and put it in the candy monster grade of choice(s)

3. Sponsor a Trunk or Treat TRUNK! We provide the candy!
