The extreme heat is returning.

Temperatures will gradually increase into the mid-90s by the middle of the week, with heat indices around 100F. This will lead to significant heat risk Tuesday through Thursday. Limit your exposure, seek shelter in air conditioned buildings, and drink plenty of water.

Our crews have been busy this afternoon, responding to three motor vehicle accidents, a report of wires down and a medical emergency. Have a safe rest of your Saturday.

Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front this afternoon through the evening.
There is a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for a few strong to severe storms over northern Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania. The main severe hazard will be isolated damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph followed by a lesser threat of large hail up to the size of Quarters possible.

Amherst firefighters once again found themselves at an animal rescue, this time for a horse that got stuck between two trees. Story in comments.

We have a chance for thunderstorms later this evening.

Confidence is increase in a line of thunderstorms coming in from the west and impacting portions of northern Ohio between 8 pm - 12 am. There is lower confidence in a second round of storms late tonight into tomorrow morning.

Widespread 🌧️rain and a few rumbles of thunder this morning will give way to scattered afternoon and evening ⛈️thunderstorms. Most places will see rain this morning, but the afternoon and evening storms will be hit and miss. Watch for ponding of water on the commute this morning. 🌡️Temperatures will be warm and humid today.
