At the Quiet Waters Park River Day, the Anne Arundel Group demonstrated how easy it will be to return your beverage containers for recycling via reverse vending machines when the Maryland Bottle Bill is passed by the Maryland General Assembly, greatly reducing litter by roadsides and in our waterways. Currently, only 25% of our beverage containers are recycled.

Lisa Brannigan Rodvien (blue t shirt)has been our environmental champion on the County Council for years. She was instrumental in helping us pass the reusable bag bill, which has saved our landfills from hundreds of thousands of single use plastic bags. which used to be distributed routinely by grocery stores. Lisa will be sorely missed as the Anne Arundel Group of the Sierra Club continues to advocate for a clean, green environment.
