Our 51st Community Police Academy (CPA) graduated last night, and this group made it one to remember.

Thank you to NSO Sims and NSO Moore with our Community Outreach Division for leading the class and keeping things both informative and engaging. We appreciate the time, questions, and genuine interest this group brought each week.

These graduates gained a behind-the-scenes look at ACCPD and are now officially part of the ACCPD family. We hope we’ve made as much of an impact on this cohort as they’ve made on us.

If ACCPD’s CPA sounds like something you're interested in, you’re in luck—we’ll be hosting our 52nd session this fall! Keep an eye out for more information coming soon.

In this episode of Classic City Blue, we take a closer look at our 911 Communications Division. Using an emergency call involving a suspect with a gun, this call provides insight into how dispatchers are trained, how they maintain composure during difficult calls, and how they cope afterward. Join Classic City Blue host Lt. Enrique Rivera, 911 Administrator Kevin Zapata, and Athena Gray, Communications Supervisor, to learn more about our 911 Communications Division.

Today, ACCPD hosted the ACC Fallen Officers Memorial Wreath Laying Ceremony to honor the brave heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty. Each name we remember represents a life of service, courage, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. While their loss is deeply felt, their legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew them. We stand together in gratitude, remembrance, and a promise to never forget their sacrifice.

On Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. This day is more than just a long weekend. It is a time to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We are forever grateful for our fallen heroes and will never take their sacrifice for granted.

Last week, ACCPD spent the morning at The Haven at Cedar Shoals for a special Coffee with a Cop.

Between warm cups of coffee, shared stories, and plenty of laughs, our officers had the chance to slow down and enjoy meaningful moments with some of the residents. The coffee was wonderful, and the company was even better.

Thank you to everyone at The Haven for welcoming us. We’re already looking forward to the next visit!

The Triangle Plaza Community Resource Fair was an incredible success and a great time for all! Thank you to our partnering organizations for supporting the ACC community, and to everyone who came out last Saturday to be part of the event.

With more than 550 attendees and 50+ community partners, nonprofits, agencies, and ACCGov departments in attendance, the day was full of meaningful connections and valuable support. Together, we served over 500 hot dogs, chips, and drinks, distributed 7,000 diapers to families, and provided 20 car seats—helping keep our youth safe.

Hundreds of resources and referrals were shared throughout the event, but most importantly, we strengthened relationships, built trust, and fostered positive interactions between law enforcement and the community we proudly serve.

Want to be part of the next one? The ACCPD Community Outreach Unit is getting ready for another great Resource Fair at Howard Park on July 11—mark your calendars!
