Last Saturday, April 25, 2026, the Villa Rica Police Department hosted a Ladies’ Self-Defense/Firearm Safety class.

Participants spent time in the classroom learning about practical self-defense options, Georgia weapon laws, use-of-force laws, firearm safety, and the fundamentals of marksmanship (marks”women”ship).

Following the classroom session, participants moved to the outdoor range for the live range. Participants received individual coaching and guidance. With a strong focus on safety and proper technique, participants demonstrated confidence and accuracy while on the range.

We’re proud to support and empower the women in our community with the knowledge and skills to stay safe. Thank you to everyone who attended and made this class a success!

UPDATE - Allen Culbreth has been safely located.

The Villa Rica Police Department needs your help locating Allen Culbreth, 56, who has not been heard from since March 17, 2026, after leaving a local hospital. Mr. Culbreth relies on the use of a wheelchair or walker to get around and has other medical issues. His family is very concerned about him. If anyone has any information as to his whereabouts, contact Sgt. Crawford at 678-840-1323 or by email at [email protected].
