The House Health Committee meeting that was originally scheduled for Wednesday, June 24th has been moved to TODAY, Tuesday June 23rd at 2:00PM. The meeting will be held at the State Capitol Room 403.

On June 18, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) released a letter that could impact the future of disability rights and access to community-based services. The letter addresses the ADA’s “integration mandate” and the interpretation of the landmark Olmstead decision, raising important questions for the disability community.

The GA House Health Committee meets June 24, 2026 from 2:30–4:30 p.m. at the State Capitol Room 403. Topics include a proposed 20% rate reduction affecting Babies Can’t Wait providers and concerns about access to hospital dental procedures requiring anesthesia for people w/IDD.

Today, we celebrate the 27th anniversary of the Olmstead Decision, a landmark Supreme Court ruling that affirmed the right of people with disabilities to work and participate in their communities rather than in institutions.

The fight for true community inclusion continues, and Olmstead remains a powerful reminder that disability rights are civil rights.
