CEF Neighborhood House

CEF Neighborhood House We seek to help children, teens and young adults by sharing the love of Christ in a safe, warm environment.

The Neighborhood House is a non-denominational ministry. We minister to children ages 3-12, teens, and young adults in various life situations. We offer weekly bible classes, Good News Club, Day Camps, as well as many other activities. These classes and clubs are designed to help young people build a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, other believers, our staff, and volunteers. C

hildren are able to grow from program to program, allowing us to have a great investment in their lives. The Neighborhood House is open to everyone, so please stop by! For more information, please contact us at 207-338-3013 or [email protected]

Dear CEF of Maine Family,

With Thanksgiving tomorrow, I wanted to take a moment to express our thankfulness to God for you all. My own heart echoes the heart of Paul, when he wrote to the Thessalonians, “For what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God?” Indeed, what thanksgiving could we offer our great God for you that would be adequate enough?

Many of you have sacrificially given of yourselves to the ministry of CEF so that children could be evangelized, discipled, and established in a local church. Whether you teach a Good News Club, sit on a local committee, clean bathrooms, give financially, pray, or serve with us in any other way, please know that God is using you not only to reach children, but to also bring great joy to our hearts.

While we know that our thanksgiving could never match the blessing that God has given to us through you, we offer it nonetheless. With hearts full of joy, we thank God for you and hope that your Thanksgiving is full of joy and gratitude.

In His Service,
Ryan

With weather looking the way it is, and with local schools switching to remote learning, we have opted to cancel club for today. Stay safe out there!

02/01/2021

Just wanted to make everyone aware that with the strong potential for a snowstorm late tonight and through most of tomorrow we may end up cancelling clubs. The policy for club cancellations is if the schools are cancelled or moved to remote learning then we cancel club. We will keep everyone updated and make an official announcement tomorrow to let you all know what's happening.

God bless!

We are excited to announce that we are finally starting clubs up again! Starting this week (today, in fact) we will be hosting a Middle School club on Tuesdays from 5-6:30 and an Elementary club on Wednesdays from 5-6:30. If any of you have kids in that age range who would like attend, but have not been contacted yet, please feel free to message us via Facebook or call us at 338-3013.

For those concerned, we are taking several precautions to honor the governor's mandates and the concerns of our local community. We will be limiting the number of kids on our vans and in our clubs in order to comply with physical distancing standards, and be requiring masks from pick-up to drop-off. We will be doing temperature checks and asking questions about their health and potential symptoms at check-in for those who are dropped off and at pick-up before they will be brought onto the van. Those showing symptoms will be asked to attend at a later time, and we will gladly work with them to ensure they can attend again as soon as reasonably possible. We will be attempting to keep the facility clean throughout the night, particularly with regards to significant touch-points such as door-handles, and high-use areas such as bathrooms.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Otherwise, simply keep our clubs in prayer as we seek to share the good news of the Gospel with all those in need! God bless!

Hello all! We have greatly missed having clubs and seeing everyone around the Neighborhood House ever since COVID hit. We just wanted to update you all and let you know that we have been working towards hosting clubs again in a way that is both safe and effective. It has taken longer than we had hoped, but Lord willing we will be able to start hosting small clubs again sometime after the first of the year. It will not be the big club many of your kids are used to, but we hope they will both enjoy and learn from it just the same. This is a tentative estimate and may be subject to change as circumstances require, but if it all works out then we hope to start seeing some of you very soon!

God bless you all, and keep you all safe in these difficult times!
