The Belfast Poet Laureate Audrey Gidman had the difficult task of judging 79 entries from Waldo county for the annual Belfast Free Library youth poetry contest.

So many honorable mentions to reveal at the Monday Poetry Reception.

And the winners are:

Older group - Ages 11-18
1st place - Austen Holland, age 16, Dory Learning Center
2nd place - Dex Callas, age 15, Dory Learning Center
3rd place - Margot Melanson, age 12, Mount View Middle School

Younger group - Age 10 and younger
1st place - Averi Bishop, age 10, Edna Drinkwater School
2nd place - Joanna Mattox, age 10, Sweet Tree School
