Earlier this morning, Saturday, August 29, 2026, at approximately 9:08 AM, the Bellingham Communications Center received a call reporting a motor vehicle crash involving a parked vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of 96 Farm Street. Bellingham Police and Fire personnel were dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel determined that a truck had collided with a parked landscaping truck and trailer. An individual was on the trailer at the time of the crash and was struck, throwing them approximately 15 to 20 feet.

Bellingham Fire personnel treated the individual at the scene before they were transferred to a medical helicopter and transported to an area trauma center.

The operator of the other vehicle remained at the scene and was also transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash was witnessed and speed was not a factor. The crash remains under investigation by the Bellingham Police Department, with assistance from the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Accident Reconstruction Team.

No further information regarding the patient’s condition is available at this time.

Bellingham Police Department’s K9 Louie to get donation of body armor

Bellingham Police Department, MA - K9 Louie will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Louie’s vest was sponsored by Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. and will be embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Chris Caramela”. Delivery is expected within ten weeks.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,631 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old, actively employed, and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. The Bellingham Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual shown in the attached photos and video. This person is considered a person of interest in connection with last weekend’s burglary and assault. The individual was on Pulaski Blvd heading towards Woonsocket on August 15 between 12:30am and 1:00am.

Anyone who recognizes this individual or has information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the Bellingham Police Department Detectives at 508-966-1212 or email [email protected].

What an amazing way to wrap up another incredible week at the Bellingham Police Department Summer Camp!

A huge thank you to the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing for stopping by to teach our campers about policing from the sky. Our campers loved learning from the State Troopers and asking so many great questions!

Thank you to Blackhawk Pizza and the CNC Ice Cream Truck for providing a delicious lunch and sweet treats to celebrate the end of a fantastic week.

A very special thank you to all of the dedicated Bellingham Police Officers who took time out of their busy schedules to spend the week with our campers. Building positive relationships with our community is at the heart of what we do.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s camp our best one yet. We can’t wait to do it all again next summer!

Days 3 & 4 of the Bellingham Police Summer Camp were packed with fun and unforgettable experiences—even though the rain tried to slow us down!

Day 3 was spent at Launch, where campers bounced the day away, challenged each other in laser tag, and enjoyed the arcade (with a few lucky winners!)

Day 4 was filled with incredible special guests and hands-on learning. Campers learned about the Bellingham Police Motorcycle Unit with Officer Falvey, watched an exciting K-9 demonstration with Officer Hole and K-9 Louie, along with Officer Hood and K-9 Otis from the Seekonk Police Department, and spent time with several wonderful comfort K-9s thanks to Jen Hurteau of Stonewall Kennel and the comfort K9s from Bellingham, Blackstone, Hopedale and Uxbridge Police Departments.

We also welcomed back Kristy and Bailey from the Norfolk District Attorney’s Community Outreach Program, joined by Marissa from the Norfolk County Children’s Advocacy Center, who shared important lessons about online safety.

To finish the day, Special Agent Riportella and OST Whuoley from the FBI Lakeville Resident Agency introduced campers to the work of the FBI through hands-on mock crime scene investigations, giving them a chance to experience what it takes to be an FBI agent.

Another exciting, educational, and fun couple of days at camp! We can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store!
