The first BNSF Railway trains crossed the new Missouri River bridge at Bismarck-Mandan, North Dakota on September 16, 2026.

Project Highlights
โ–ช๏ธFirst Trains: A westbound train crossed at 6:51 a.m. and an eastbound train at 8:25 a.m. on Sept. 16.
โ–ช๏ธFinal Cutover: Completed following a swift 20-hour track-shifting work window.
โ–ช๏ธNext Steps: Deconstruction of the historic former bridge begins this fall and winter, while a recreational navigation channel remains open on the river.
