NACo highlights efforts by McLean County, North Dakota to recruit and retain EMS volunteers. This solution is something we have heard other counties discuss as well as a way to incentivize county employees being involved in this important community service!

Facing challenges that could further shrink its pool of EMS volunteers, McLean County, N.D. eased the process for county staff to participate.

ND County Auditors and Treasurers came together recently for their 2026 Conference for training on budgets, mill levies, figuring out the levy limitation along with trainings on other basic duties and what to keep in mind on what to post on websites and be ADA compliant.
