Join the Town of Brewster, Cape Cod to celebrate Juneteenth with music, food, and activities at Drummer Boy Park on June 19th, 10am-1pm. Be Inclusive will host its 7th Annual Juneteenth Celebration on Friday, June 19, and the 3rd Annual Pride Celebration on Saturday, June 27. Expect a lively mix of cultural programming, food, and family activities, with opportunities to connect with local leaders and businesses.

This past weekend, our Communities Team visited the Bedford Cultural District's first Music and Arts Experience on the Town Common!

After speaking with Eric Salerno, Bedford's Housing and Economic Development Director, we came away with a deep appreciation for the intentionality behind the event and the local makers who brought it to life.

Artists were paid for their time and materials and collaborative partners, workshops were designed for all ages and with accessibility in mind, and the experience was shaped by what makes Bedford truly unique.

Thank you to the Town of Bedford, MA, Bedford Cultural Council, and the Bedford Cultural District Partnership for making this possible!

Mass Cultural Council was thrilled to have our team at MASSCreative's Creative Sector Summit this past Friday in New Bedford!

A few highlights: "Building the Base" explored how New Bedford legislated a permanent Arts, Culture, and Tourism Fund, offering lessons for Gateway Cities looking to support their own cultural districts (including New Bedford's Seaport Cultural District). "Making Space for Art" brought together Claudia Zarazua (Director of Arts and Cultural Planning, City of Cambridge), Lourdes Alvarez Silva (Assistant Director of Arts and Culture, MAPC), and others to discuss local policy tools for creative space, including Cambridge's Central Square Cultural District. And our own Dr. Erik Holmgren (Manager of Advancement and Special Projects) and Carolyn Cole (Special Projects Manager for Advancement) partnered with for "The Creative Workaround," a session on funding civic solutions with non-arts dollars.

Great chance to connect with our and creative community partners from across Massachusetts. Thank you to MassCreative for putting together such a meaningful day!

Kudos to the Pepperell Cultural Council for tabling and funding the Pepperell Multicultural Festival! This community-wide celebration created the space for many to enjoy different cultures of food, music, art, traditions, and shared stories.

Thank you to State Senator Vanna Howard and Margaret Scarsdale for State Representative for their support and attending this community event.
