The Town of Orono, in partnership with the Bangor Area Comprehensive Transportation System - BACTS, is proposing a demonstration project for the summer and fall of 2026 to enhance safety for all roadway users at the intersection of Main Street and Westwood Street.

This project is driven by a desire to support the reduction of fatal and serious injuries by reducing conflict points and expanding access to all road users, consistent with the goals of the Draft BACTS Regional Complete Streets Policy.
