Congratulations to Coach Dewling! The Michigan High School Athletic Coaches Association (MHSCA) has named James Dewling of Brighton Schools the State Boys Golf Coach of the Year. Mr. James Dewling will be formally recognized at the annual MHSCA State Awards Luncheon on November 8, 2026, at the Great Hall Banquet & Convention Center in Midland, Michigan, alongside 28 other distinguished coaches and athletic directors from across the state.

"The selection of Coach Dewling reflects the high standard of excellence maintained by Brighton Schools and the broader community," the MHSCA noted in its announcement. Candidates for the award are nominated by their respective sport associations and evaluated based on long-term program performance, leadership, and contributions to athletics and the community.

We kicked off another school year with our annual Opening Day celebration—and apparently, this year we decided to go way back. Special guests George & Martha Washington joined us to help celebrate America's 250th!

A huge congratulations to our 30-year “OGs”!And a very special shoutout to Scherff Agency for treating us to an amazing lunch and helping make Opening Day one to remember!

Here’s to a great school year ahead—may it be historic, but hopefully not quite 250 years long!

Part of the proposed 0 millage increase bond is a Security Lockout System for all of our buildings. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.
