⛳️🔥 What a successful Glow Ball Tournament! 🔥⛳️

The Brighton Fire Department would like to thank everyone who came out and played in this year’s Day/Night Glow Ball Golf Tournament! From the first tee in the daylight to the final putt under the glow, it was a great day filled with fun, friendly competition, and community support.

THANK YOU, JAKE RINGERING MEMORIAL FOUNDATION!

The Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Protection District is honored to have been awarded $30,000 through the Jake Ringering Memorial Golf Tournament!

This generous contribution will help us continue our firefighter training program, ensuring our firefighters have the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience they need to perform their duties safely and effectively. Our goal is to make sure our firefighters are better prepared to protect themselves, their fellow firefighters, and the community we proudly serve.

Jake Ringering’s legacy lives on through the continued commitment to training, education, and excellence in the fire service. This support allows us to carry forward the importance Jake placed on firefighting and training, helping ensure that future generations of firefighters are better prepared to answer the call.

Jake will never be forgotten. His memory continues to inspire us, and we are proud to honor his legacy by investing in the safety, knowledge, and training of our firefighters.

Tonight, the members of the Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Protection District conducted training focused on responding to a deer hunter who has fallen from a tree stand.

With deer hunting season upon us, it’s important that our firefighters are prepared for the unique challenges these emergencies can present. Our training covered several critical areas, including: Rope Rescue techniques and equipment, Medical & Trauma Training, UTV operations and pt. packaging, LZ Operations (Establishing a safe landing zone for incoming medical helicopters).

As we enter this time of year, our department remains committed to training and preparing for all types of emergencies that may occur in our community.

Our goal is simple: Train hard, stay prepared, and provide the highest level of service to the community we proudly serve.

🚗 DRIVERS: KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN!
Help keep our little ghosts and goblins safe!

🕕 TRICK-OR-TREATING HOURS: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

🚘 DRIVER SAFETY

☐ Slow down in residential neighborhoods.
☐ Watch carefully for children crossing streets.
☐ Keep an extra eye out between parked cars.
☐ Put your phone away—never drive distracted.
☐ Turn on your headlights early to improve visibility.
☐ Be especially cautious at intersections and driveways.
☐ Never assume children can see your vehicle.

👻 TRICK-OR-TREATER SAFETY

☐ Use sidewalks whenever possible.
☐ Cross streets at corners and crosswalks.
☐ Look both ways before crossing.
☐ Make eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of vehicles.
☐ Carry a flashlight or glow stick.
☐ Wear reflective clothing or add reflective tape to costumes.
☐ Avoid running between parked cars.
☐ Children should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

🎭 COSTUME & VISIBILITY SAFETY

☐ Choose costumes that fit properly to prevent tripping.
☐ Make sure costumes stay away from open flames.
☐ Use battery-operated candles in pumpkins.
☐ Keep costumes and decorations away from heaters and candles.

🍬 CANDY & HOME SAFETY

☐ Inspect all treats before eating.
☐ Avoid homemade or unwrapped treats from unfamiliar sources.
☐ Keep walkways, steps, and porches well-lit.
☐ Remove obstacles that could cause trips and falls.
☐ Keep decorations clear of exits and walkways.

📢 Informational Meeting – Fire District Tax Proposition

Next Thursday, October 29th at 6:30 PM, Bunker Hill Fire Protection District will be hosting an informational meeting at Station 2 in Shipman.

This meeting is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the upcoming fire district tax proposition, ask questions, and better understand how it will impact our community and the services we provide.

We encourage everyone to come out, ask questions, and get the information you need to make an informed decision.

Tuesday nights training focused on a critical skill in the fire service: searching for and rescuing victims during a structure fire.

This hands-on training was designed to give our newer members and cadets the opportunity to gear up in an air pack, experience searching in zero-visibility conditions, and practice locating and removing victims to safety. These exercises help build confidence, develop essential skills, and prepare our members for the challenges they may face on an actual emergency scene.

Our new EMRs also had the opportunity to discuss patient assessment, medical treatment, and making important decisions about patient care and transport.

We’re proud to see our newer members and cadets stepping up, asking questions, and putting in the work to become better responders!

The countdown is on for our BackStoppers Chili Cook-Off on October 24th! We’re getting closer, and we can’t wait to bring our community together for a day filled with great food, fellowship, and support for an incredible cause.

This event is about more than just chili. It’s about supporting the families of fallen police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel and reminding them that they are never alone.

🚒👮‍♀️🚑 Come hungry. Bring your family. Bring your friends. And come support the families who have sacrificed so much.

At this time, the Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Protection District is asking for your thoughts and prayers for one of our own.
On Tuesday evening, an active member of our department was involved in a serious incident. This individual has given many years of dedicated, selfless service to our community and our surrounding districts, always standing ready to help others in their time of need.
We kindly ask that you please keep him in your prayers for a full recovery, and pray for strength, peace, and comfort for his family, friends, and fellow first responders during this difficult time.
