🐣 Something special is happening in the incubator…

We’ve got Dutch Hookbills and Runner ducks starting to hatch here at Mema's Inclination … and honestly, this feels bigger than just new birds.

This is about bringing something rare back to life.

🦆 Dutch Hookbills
A critically rare heritage breed — known for that unmistakable curved bill and their incredible ability to forage. These ducks almost disappeared… and every hatch helps keep them here.

🦆 Runner Ducks
The upright, always-on-the-move garden legends.
They don’t waddle — they run.
And they WORK. These birds are absolute machines when it comes to pest control and egg production.

But here’s the part that matters most 👇

This didn’t happen by accident.

We want to give a huge, genuine thank you to Paradise Pond (paradisepond.us) for providing these birds and helping make this hatch possible. When you’re working with heritage breeds, who you source from matters — and this is exactly the kind of work that keeps these lines strong and thriving.

We started this farm with almost nothing.
Just a few animals… and a decision to build something real.

Now we’re here —
Watching rare ducks hatch in an incubator…
Knowing they’ll go on to feed families, work the land, and keep these breeds alive.

That’s what this is about.

Not just farming.
👉 Preserving something worth keeping.

If you’ve ever thought about raising ducks, or just want to follow along as these little ones grow…

Drop a 🐣 below or follow along! We’ll be sharing updates as they hatch and grow out.

He thought no one saw.

That was the problem.

On Mema’s farm,
what you do always finds its way back.

This little pig learned something most of us take years to understand.

👉 Do right. Even when no one is watching.

📖 A story we wish we heard sooner.
Coming soon.

Not everything starts loud.

Some things start like this.
Quiet… small… barely breaking the surface.

Broccoli. Artichokes. Tomatoes.
Ground cherries. Parsley. Strawberries.
Sugar peas, snow peas, crowder peas…
and Brussels sprouts.

Right now, they’re just little green shoots.

But this is how it always begins.

No hype.
No guarantees.
Just dirt, patience… and the decision to try again.

And if you’ve ever grown anything,
you know this part matters the most.

Because beneath that tiny bit of green…
👉 roots are already taking hold.

This is the season of starting over.
And we’re here for it.

Most people think farms all raise the same animals.

Ours doesn’t.

At Mema’s Inclination, we focus on heritage livestock that most people have never seen in person. It is still surprising for us to mention them and see the interest and awe, because we see them everyday
