Boone County Conservation District, Kentucky

Boone County Conservation District, Kentucky Kentucky Conservation Districts are governmental subdivisions of the state, organized under Kentucky Revised Statute 262.

The Conservation District makes technical and financial help available to reduce soil erosion, prevent water pollution, and maintain and improve the quality and productivity of our farmlands, forests, and other natural resources. Conservation Districts are responsible for protecting our soil, water and other natural resources and are governed by the Kentucky Soil and Water Commission through the Kentucky Division of Conservation.

📢K-12 teachers and students:

Have you heard of the Jim Claypool Art & Conservation Writing Contest?

Students will learn all about local conservation (this years’s theme is soil!), practice their creativity, and maybe even win a cash prize!

K-5 students can compete in the art contest, while 6-12 grade stidents can compete in the writing contest.
