We have an update! We have access to our systems but can ONLY look at information, print assessment sheets to be filled out, and the collectors office can print bills or receipts. We CANNOT enter assessments to generate bills, issue waivers, make changes, and the collectors office CAN NOT accept payments. It is anticipated that Wednesday, July 29, 2026 we should be up and functioning at full capacity. Please keep in mind when that time comes, we are using a new system so expect delays. We wont be as fast as we generally are and appreciate your kindness and understanding during this transition.

Unfortunately due to no fault of our own or the new company we are still without a fully functioning system. We apologize for any inconvenience. For those needing to pay a bill or be assessed we hope to be operational Monday but please check back here for updates.

We're back on track for the system upgrade. Our office and the Treasurer/Collector's office will be CLOSED July 20, 21, and 22.

Due to our current software provider being unavailable we will now be OPEN the remainder of this week. Please plan ahead as we currently do not have a new estimated shutdown period and could have no advanced warning of a new shutdown period.

‼️‼️‼️ Just a reminder that there are only a few work days remaining before we're CLOSED for a system upgrade. If you have anything you need to get taken care of with our office, please come in soon, as we will be CLOSED July 16th, 17th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Thank you for your understanding!

IMPORTANT!!! The Bates County Assessor's Office will be closed from Thursday, July 16th through Wednesday, July 22nd for a system upgrade.

REMINDER: Assessment sheets are due tomorrow(4/30)! You are welcome to drop them off in office 8:30-4:30 or overnight in the Collectors Office drop box. If mailing remember to check when it will be postmarked as this is the date used when received. If you have misplaced your sheet we can pick one up in office or we can mail you a new copy. However sheets not received or postmarked by 4/30 are late.
