🔥🌲 From South Georgia to the firelines of Washington — meet GFC Ranger Tanner Todd.

We caught up with Tanner while he was on wildfire assignment in Keller, Washington, a long way from the flat South Georgia terrain he calls home!

Tanner lives in Whigham and joined GFC four years ago after working as a welder. An avid hunter who loves being outdoors, he says one of the things he enjoys most about serving as a Ranger 2 with our Grady/Thomas Unit is having a job that's "different every day."

Right now, that job has taken him across the country to help another state during a period of elevated wildfire activity.

Thanks for representing Georgia well, Tanner! 👏

ATTENTION: Archbold Grady will hold a drill next Wednesday, July 22, to test the hospital’s response to our emergency code, Code Silver, “active shooter”. We want to assure our community that THIS IS ONLY A DRILL!

All services at Archbold Grady and the surrounding facilities will be available during the drill. All patients with radiology or endoscopy appointments during the drill will need to enter through the main entrance at Archbold Grady.

The active shooter drill will take place in the emergency department. You may see emergency vehicles and increased security in the area during this drill, but there will be no need for alarm.

Drills like this allow Archbold to test our response to emergency situations and practice our coordination with local law enforcement. The safety of our patients, our employees, and our visitors is our #1 priority.

Sorry for the late post, but Happy EMS week! This is a week to celebrate those who continuously sacrifice themselves to save someone else. They work diligently and effectively, giving the utmost care to those who need it most. They respond to calls without hesitation and walk in bravery each day by going into unknown situations out of their control.
Thank you GCEMS for everything you do for us and this county.
