I’m very happy to announce that I’ve directed $30,000 in unrestricted state aid to Canaseraga Central School. As I told Superintendent Josie Steiner and the Board of Education, I picked Canaseraga because it’s one of the smallest schools in the 148th Assembly District and that’s where this money will do the most good.

Thank you to Southern Tier Health Care System (STHCS) CEO Donna Kahm for inviting me to STHCS’ Rural Health Development Stakeholder Roundtable. The roundtable was a great opportunity to meet with Richard Mayfield, NYS Director for USDA Rural Development; Chris Hoffman, Pennsylvania State Director for USDA Rural Development; John G. McGough, New York/New England Regional Director with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and local leaders in health care and EMS to talk about the challenges our rural communities face.

Thank you to The Arc Allegany-Steuben CEO Mike Damiano for inviting me to The Arc’s office in Wellsville. I met with Mr. Damiano, members of his team, and several Arc clients/self-advocates. We talked about how policies in Albany are impacting folks with intellectual and developmental disabilities and what I’m doing in Albany as a member of the People with Disabilities Committee to ensure that agencies like The Arc Allegany-Steuben receive support they need to provide services to the I/DD community. As I said during our meeting, we spend too much money in Albany, yet not enough taking care of our most vulnerable citizens.

Thank you to Hinsdale Town Supervisor Deb Duchesne, the Town Board members and the Hinsdale Historical Society for dedicating the town park as Crosby Park in honor of the Crosby family and their contributions to Hinsdale, and all of Cattaraugus County. Crosby Dairy was founded in 1921 by Emmett Crosby and his son Howard in Hinsdale. Nearly 50 area dairy farmers delivered milk to Crosby Dairy every day. As the Crosby Dairy flourished, Howard Crosby and the Crosby family gave back to the community. Dedicating the town park in their honor is a wonderful tribute!

America gave me the opportunity to dream big, work hard, build businesses, create jobs, and build a life beyond anything my family could have imagined.

Now, I’m running for New York State Comptroller to give back to the country and state that gave me so much.
