Last Tuesday marked a heartbreaking anniversary. On May 21, 2025, Gianna took her final breath in her mother’s arms. The pain of that day is beyond words, and the loss has left a wound that time cannot heal.
The pain did not end that day, and neither did the devastation it caused. Some people live as if accountability does not apply to them. But for those left to pick up the pieces, the cost endures, and the truth remains. Gianna was deeply loved, and she deserved far better.

I waited a little before sharing this because life has been moving so quickly, and I needed time to process everything in my heart. Recently, we came together to honor Gianna with a memorial and heavenly birthday celebration, and it was a beautiful afternoon filled with love and many hugs. Even though the day was deeply meaningful, our hearts still ache wishing Gianna were here with us for her first birthday—laughing, playing, eating cake, and creating precious memories together.
Please enjoy some photos of our celebration of Gianna. Thank you all for your continued support.

🚨 Aurora Man Found Guilty in Death of Newborn Daughter

A jury has convicted a man in a child abuse case in Aurora, Colorado.

According to the 18th Judicial District Attorney's Office, Hector Alexandro Delarosa was found guilty of child abuse resulting in death after the death of his 10-day-old daughter in 2024.

Investigators say the infant was taken to Children’s Hospital Colorado with severe injuries, including a skull fracture, brain bleeding, retinal hemorrhages, and a fractured femur. Despite medical efforts, the child later died after being removed from life support.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office determined the cause of death to be blunt force trauma and ruled it a homicide.

Officials say Delarosa initially claimed the injuries were accidental but provided inconsistent statements, and medical experts determined the injuries were not consistent with a typical household accident.

Following a 7-day trial, Delarosa was convicted. His sentencing is scheduled for June 29.

Yesterday, after five previously delayed preliminary hearings since August 2025, we finally moved forward with the preliminary hearing. The charges: Count 1: CHILD ABUSE RESULTING IN DEATH. The judge found there is enough evidence to move this case forward, and we are now headed toward criminal trial. A small victory!
Before testimony began, the District Attorney warned our family that we would hear painful, disturbing details. Nothing can prepare a grandmother to sit in a courtroom and hear how violently her granddaughter was injured. I left shocked, devastated, and with a grief that feels brand new all over again.
It was also the first time many of his family members attended a hearing. I can’t stop thinking about how hard it must have been for anyone in that room to hear what was described. And I’m struggling with an honest question: after hearing what Gianna endured, how can anyone continue to stand behind the person accused of doing this?
I want to be clear: I’m not asking anyone to harass or threaten anyone. I’m asking for accountability, for truth, and for compassion—for Gianna and for every child who cannot speak for themselves. The court process will do what it must do. But as a community, we can choose where we place our hearts and our support.
Thank you to everyone who continues to follow , to check on our family, and to keep Gianna’s name present. We will keep sharing updates as the case moves forward. Please hold Gianna and Kendall in your thoughts—and please keep this space respectful as we fight for justice.

Court on Monday—our sixth attempt to get the preliminary hearing completed so we can move forward in the legal process. If it finally happens, we may hear difficult details related to Gianna’s case.

We’ll stay strong and keep showing up for her. We’re hopeful the court will consider the evidence carefully and that the process will lead to accountability and justice.

Thank you to everyone for their support and prayers.

Last April was marked by Kendall's baby shower themed 'A Little Peanut (baby elephant) is on the Way'. In December, our family went on a sailing excursion in Mexico, where Kendall encountered a captivating butterfly that fluttered around her while we were at sea. We knew Gianna was there with us!
As a result, I've been collecting baby elephant and butterfly-related items. They bring me joy as they are constant reminders of beautiful Gianna. She is deeply missed.

We love and miss you Sweet G!
