West Virginia Treasury State Treasurer Larry Pack is the chief financial officer of West Virginia.

The Office of the West Virginia State Treasurer was established at the Constitutional Convention held in Wheeling in 1863 after the western counties of Virginia split to become West Virginia. The Treasurer's Office is one of six constitutionally mandated offices in West Virginia.

State Treasurer Larry Pack, who serves as Chairman of the Hope Scholarship Board, today announced new technology improvements to the Hope Scholarship Program have increased productivity for processing TheoPay orders by 42 percent as families begin utilizing scholarship funds for the 2026-2027 school year. As part of the new TheoPay Self-Serve process, artificial intelligence technology reviews eligible orders under $75, allowing families to more quickly access approved educational items while increasing the program’s overall processing capacity.

While in Braxton County on Tuesday, Treasurer Pack stopped by the Braxton County Senior Citizens Center to speak and visit while local residents checked to see if they had any unclaimed property during Braxton County's Treasury Day and we found around $15,000!
