Beginning Wednesday, September 16 at 4:30pm, this 4-week beginner course is designed for families and any others who want to learn basic everyday signs and creating a foundation of knowledge in ASL. No prior experience required!

Ready to keep signing? Join us in our second session for a fun and interactive continuation of your ASL education! Beginning Wednesday, September 16 at 5:30pm, this fun and interactive 4-week course is designed for families and learners who have completed the previous introductory ASL course and want to build confidence, expand their vocabulary, and begin using more natural ASL sentences and conversations. No advanced experience is needed!

This presentation explains the history of the pirates and pirate hunters of New England during the Golden Age of Piracy. Topics discussed are why people became pirates, how pirate ships were run, weapons and tactics used, politics of the pirates, the government, and of the colonies, as well as how piracy ended. Welcome aboard as we discuss this hidden part of New England's history!

The Friends of the Chester Public Library will be holding a book sales at the 20 Water Street Building:

Sunday Market, 10am-1:30pm: August 23rd, September 13th, & September 27th
First Friday, 5pm-8:30pm: September 4th & October 2nd (Light refreshments served)

We are accepting book donations at the Chester Public Library Mondays - Fridays 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10am-3pm. All donations go toward Chester Public Library's programming and services.

The Sweet History of Honey and Hunt with Honey Tasting

Learn the history of honey harvest, the history of purposeful beekeeping, hives of past and present, the composition of honey and why honey crystalizes. What makes honey so dark or so light? How many varietals of honey are there? Why does honey crystalize? Why doesn't honey need to be pasteurized? Learn the answers to these questions and much more during this engaging talk and taste five varietals of honey and honey from The Humble Bee Honey Company! This is a collaborative program with the Chester Garden Club. Light refreshments will be served.
