Yesterday afternoon Sta 43 assisted Smyrna station 44 with an engine on a working fire. We later were alerted to cover their station with our Tower while crews worked in high heat to extinguish the fire in the 3 houses. While there Sudlersville stood by our station with a ladder to cover points south of Smyrna.
The duty crews tonight repacked lines in preparation for the next fire.

This evening station 43 was alerted to assist Dover Fire with the Tower and Engine. Upon arrival there was visible fire and both crews went interior and were to split up between the floors to assist with extinguishment. Great job to all on this Fathers Day with the amount fire on this warm day.

Some members have been out to some local businesses to receive donations in the form of water to assist us in staying hydrated during the summer months. This is a huge help as we essentially wear over a hundred pounds of winter cloths for every call. Thank you to our local supporters the Dover Lowe’s and the Cheswold Redner’s for your donations.

Last evening the membership received our new engine from Pierce manufacturing. This engine will be replacing one of our aging engines so that we may better serve our communities. This engine will be placed in service in the coming months after equipment is mounted and members are trained.

This evening at 8:09 while over 20 members were at the station for duty crew we were dispatched for a kitchen fire in town. 3 fully staffed trucks were on scene in less than 5 minutes and the fire was quickly extinguished and put under control at 8:14. Great job by all these volunteers to give up their Saturday night to protect our community’s.

Around 3 pm today, Cheswold along with Leipsic Vol. Fire Company and the Dover Fire Dept. were alerted to a house fire on Commerce Street in Cheswold. Engine 43-3 and Deputy Chief Mast arrived to find a single story home with fire showing. The crew of 43-3 began an attack on the fire and the crew from Tower 43 began searches. These crews were followed quickly by units from Leipsic and Dover. The house suffered heavy damage but there were no injuries. We were also assisted by the Little Creek Fire Company, the Smyrna American Legion Ambulance Service Station 64 Inc., Kent County Department of Public Safety, and the Town of Cheswold
