Why the Fire Service?
For Lt. Jacobson, the spark started in EMS. Drawn to the fast-paced puzzle of patient assessment, critical thinking, and helping people in unpredictable circumstances, he found his calling early on. Joining Cheyenne Fire Rescue allowed him to expand that passion for medicine while serving the community alongside a dedicated, family-oriented team.

Beyond the Engine
Over his 20+ years of service, Lt. Jacobson’s drive to advance emergency medicine has reached far beyond Cheyenne.
Qualifications & Honors: B.S. in EMS Administration, Certified Community Paramedic, PALF Graduate, and the 2025 Wyoming EMS Coordinator of the Year.
Community Leadership: Active across multiple local and statewide safety boards, including the Laramie County EMS Protocol Committee (Chair), Trauma, Stroke, and Cardiac committees at CRMC, and the Wyoming Naloxone Project.
On the Ice: Longtime player on the department’s hockey team!
Off the Clock
When he’s not strengthening local EMS systems, you can find Brice golfing, playing, coaching, or officiating hockey, riding motorcycles, wrenching on his own vehicles, or hanging out with his two cats, Checkers and Ditzzy.
