South Side Help Center's CREATE Afterschool program returns September 14, and our programs are back with two major announcements:

-ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING is now available to EVERY student enrolled. Not a waitlist. Not a select few. Every. Single. Student.

-4H IS HERE! This year we're partnering with 4H to bring hands-on STEM programming to our students. Real science. Real exploration. Real skills for the future.

And it's completely FREE for Chicago residents with valid verification.

We participated in the Chicago Board of Health meeting presided by Board Chair, Bishop Dr. Horace Smith and attended by new CDPH Commissioner Dr. Garth Walker. We are demanding answers and restoration of funding cuts to our organization for HIV Care and Prevention. Cuts impact our staff, who are indigenous to the community, and clients and go need care. It’s been revealed now that CDPH returned nearly $40M in HIV funding to the federal government rather than put it to use for community organizations and residents for HIV Prevention and Care. CONTACT THE MAYOR and Your Aldermen and demand that our funding be restored!!
