Children may carry questions they never ask out loud: Did I cause this? Could I stop it if I behaved better?

When abuse happens at home, children need to hear a clear, caring message: You did not cause it. It is not your job to stop it. You do not have to fix it.

Our latest article shares compassionate ways adults can answer difficult questions, make room for children’s feelings, and offer reassurance without placing adult responsibilities on their shoulders.

WE'RE HIRING! PART-TIME DV/SA SHELTER STAFF 💜

Steps to HOPE is looking for a compassionate, dependable individual to join our Shelter team.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide empathetic support to individuals experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault.

- Conduct client intake assessments.

- Answer and respond to Crisis Hotline calls.

Must be available to work nights and weekends.

📢 WE'RE HIRING! PART-TIME DONATION ASSISTANT

Steps to HOPE is looking for a friendly, dependable individual to join our team at the Landrum Thrift Barn in Landrum, SC to work 20-25 hours per week!

Responsibilities include:

Greet donors, accept donations, and provide tax receipts.

Assist with unloading donations from vehicles, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to work Saturdays.
