What I'm Reading - Indiana Humanities

County resident Katie Glick was elected to the board of Indiana Humanities. As you will learn, she loves to read!

As a kid, I vividly remember sitting in the blue chair of my parent’s living room and reading all of the American Girl series and listening to my mom read about Laura Ingalls when I was too tired to read myself. Looking back, time seemed slower then and my love …

The redeeming good of literature in times of trouble

Robert Mixner penned our latest column for The Republic.

What good is literature in times of trouble? It’s a question that comes to my mind, since I select the library’s adult fiction and nonfiction. And when we are faced with national turmoil and a pandemic, I feel like the arts get the same scowling assessment that Falstaff gave to honor in Henry IV,...

Please everyone share this post if you can. This group is a supportive group and place for families who have loved ones that have Autism. They plan diffferent events that are free or discounted so that our loved ones get to go do things they might not normally get to go do like going to a Wizards Ball Game, Monthly Sensory Friendly gym times, Christmas Party, and Pool parties. We need people to be will to help in whatever way you can. We are looking for people to donate things to help raise money for the events that they have for our children and families. If there are people that you know who might be interested in helping in anyway, could you please tag them or re post to them. Thank you. https://facebook.com/events/s/7th-annual-the-arcs-i-can-5k-a/184027909515400/?ti=icl
We absolutely love Bartholomew County Library because Well, what’s not to love. The staff are always friendly and helpful. And there is always something fun to do there. It’s a great place for the whole family to go and hang out and to have something to do. #LibraryLoversMonth
So I just wanted to share this information with anyone who loves to read and who also like to buy things that are from local authors. Gail Pate is a wonderful author from the Brown County area. I have read both her books The Light and Halo. And they are fantastic short read books that would make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for any reader. So hurry out and go get them.
Would love to visit the library but there is hardly ever any parking at the times we go during the day. Last week we found the one and only parking spot, this week, nothing. This is one of the reasons we hardly ever go to the library - I do not want to drive there and then continue to drive around to find a parking spot, then park 2 blocks away because people don't honor the parking system set up - if you aren't using the library, then don't park there! Wish there was a workable solution!
Unfortunately I was unable to attend the Type 1 Day at a Time meeting earlier this month, but I am very interested in trying it out. Can you tell me if there are plans to continue the program in future months?
what up am that the Library any one what to talk am lonely
