Did you know September is National Library Card Sign Up Month?

You can get your BCPL card any month of the year, but this campaign was launched nearly 40 years ago by the American Library Association after the U.S. Secretary of Education enouraged students across the nation to get and use their library card at the beginning of the school year.

You can apply for your library card in person at any BCPL branch or online at mybcpl.org/library-card-form. 🎉

Check out what's happening at BCPL this week, including Adults Reading YA Book Club: Classic YA Literature tonight at Chumley's Doghouse with free appetizers courtesty of the Friends of the Bartholomew County Public Library!

Ages 2-5 are invited to join us for Preschool STEAM next month! STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. This month we will investigate apples with apple dissection, apple painting, and apple taste testing! This is a drop-in program for preschoolers and their caregivers to stay as little or as long as they like. 🍎

You are invited to the Fifth Annual BCPL Guided Cemetery Tour Series in honor of National Family History Month!

On these self-paced walking tours, library staff positioned around the cemetery will share the stories of historic families that are buried. Both of these tours are suitable for all ages.

October 5 - BCPL Cemetery Tour Series: Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery
Rain date: October 7 at 6:00 pm.

October 19 - BCPL Cemetery Tour Series: Garland Brook Cemetery
The Joseph Hart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will be joining us to tell the story of local Revolutionary War Soldier, Joseph Hart, buried in Garland Brook. Rain date: October 21 at 6:00 pm.
